Using coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer?

Wow! If we can find out if the fish bones thing works, that would be the ultimate gardening tip to submit. And even if we're not sure of how much of a difference the coffee grounds make on the growth of the plants...we do at least know that we're doing the right thing by composting those...

Using coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer?

I asked a friend who has a bit more gardening experience and she said that any flavor (or unflavored) coffee/tea grounds should work. One other thing to keep in mind--if you watch that video closely, you're actually supposed to break open the tea bags *before* putting them in the garden. I...

Which month is the best (budget-wise) to visit Disney?

I'm doing a little long-term planning to figure out when to take a vacation in 2010, and I'm wondering which month of the year are Disney-area hotels/packages/flights the cheapest?

Using coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer?

Thanks! Me too--my plants are going to be quite happy :) And I've always hated throwing coffee grounds into the trash. After seeing that video, does anyone else have other eco-conscious gardening tips?

Using coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer?

update: I just tried it out last weekend on my tomato plants, and they're doing great! It's an odd feeling at first, just tossing coffee grounds into the plants, but hey - it's good for the planet in so many ways :) I'm glad that you all confirmed that this works -- you should comment on that...

Using coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer?

I've been gardening for years now, but you learn something new every day :) The lady in this video says to reuse your old coffee grounds and tea bags by putting them in your garden! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUy1OmWvpT0 I'm about to try it out this weekend on my tiny balcony garden...

    Rent-to-own?

I know what you mean by "Rent to Own." A bunch of the big home builders around our area offer that. A few apartment buildings do too. What I've found is that they tend to be over-priced a bit compared to similar "normal" apartments/townhouses/houses for rent in the area. They usually do...

    restaurant.com

We do restaurant.com once in awhile, but the key is definitely to wait until they're having a special, and buy the "gift certificates" then. Last year around the holidays they had a discount code for something like 80%, so we got a "$25 off $50 purchase" certificate for $2.

Printable coupons - ever use them?

I got a few good printable coupons (B&N, Target) this week from another blog, but this one is entirely dedicated to printable coupons: http://printable-coupons.blogspot.com/ Also an update on the coupon I posted earlier: it prints out as $1 off Scott Naturals paper towels.

    December Trip-Fly or Drive?

Do the math along with him :) One of the biggest mistakes people make when calculating driving costs is that they only factor in fuel costs. So for your trip, Pittsburgh--Orlando = about 1,000 miles each way. That's 2,000 miles RT. The government (well, the IRS) establishes this rate...

High School Class Rings on a Budget??

I also think that in different areas of the country, HS rings have varying levels of significance. In some towns there are certain traditions that go along with them, while in others the rings aren't as big of a deal. But if you've got a son or daughter in HS that really wants a class ring, why...

Printable coupons - ever use them?

The money saving mom blog is awesome! I have a printer here at the moment but zero paper (figures)--that first one that I mentioned, the http://scottnaturals.com/Towels/ coupon, has anyone successfully printed it out yet? How much of a discount did you get?

    Eating out for less

Good call on the email lists. I know it might sound goofy, but I've gotten a few coupons recently from joining restaurants' Facebook pages. Last week, we got a free appetizer coupon from Uno's. Helllooo crab dip :)

Can you actually SELL something on Craigslist?

I've bought and sold a bunch of things using craigslist, and it's been a big help but it takes some getting used to. A few tips that I've picked up along the way: -If you're near/in a city, you'll get more responses. -If your large item (like that bedroom set) isn't selling and you have...

Printable coupons - ever use them?

I've been a coupon clipper for years now, but have just started to get hooked on the printable coupons. So this got me wondering if other people use the printable ones a lot--or if I'm the crazy one! Whenever you're heading out to the store, do you ever combine printable coupons (i.e. like...

    Garment Steamers - Recommendations???

I've got a Rowenta and it works well--but the results aren't as great as I thought they would be. Mine was pretty cheap though, something like $60 on sale at a department store. I'd recommend reading up on the reviews on Amazon--even if you don't buy it from there, there are some good tips...

    Alamo and payment question?

The reason why they aren't running a credit check on you is b/c you're probably paying with a credit card. They should only need to run a credit check if you are renting a car with cash/debit card.

Poll: how do you share Disney photos w/ family, friends?

So true Bob! I think that more people should consider setting up their own sites...definitely not for everyone, but it is a lot easier than it looks. Just like the Common Sense article mentions, there are so many options out there these days--they are all pretty good, but I hope that we're...
