    Which one is your favorite?

MK is always the park I visit first, and the park I have to visit last before leaving. It has always held a place in my heart since my first visit as a child in 1976. I love the rides and atmosphere. EPCOT is a very close second. I love spending my evenings there. It is so beautiful at night.

    Legacy showplace at EPCOT

Dang. Was hoping to see it as well.

    Tower of Literal Terror

I didn't ride for several years. I don't like the thrill rides that much either. Finally, I stood there watching all the smiling, laughing people coming off and I started telling myself: This is Disney. Nothing here is too crazy. Look at all the happy people. I can do this. I used it as a...

    First Night In Suggestions

We always like to spend the first evening at the resort. My wife calls it "letting the pixie dust slowly settle on our shoulders". So I'd say your plan sounds good. We like to have a TS meal, but if you're worried about delays I'd go with pool time and the food court. Maybe wander around the...

    Pop Warner Crowds

Last visit our final couple of days were as the Pop Warner crowds were arriving. Only once did we have an issue: at the China pavilion a group decided to break into some sort of cheer and blocked to the path back to the theater. But that was it. I've heard the resorts they stay at can get...

Magic Hours - use or avoid?

I agree with those saying use it if you have a hopper. I'm an early riser so I always hit the AM EMH park each day, head back to the resort when it gets busy, and then hop somewhere else in the evening

Need some shared experiences on times of year:)

It is HOT. No denying it. Standing in queues in August can really be killer. Luckily, a majority of attractions are indoors so you get some relief. We used to only go in August, but it got to be too much for us and now we look at November, December, January dates. Can't speak to Hurricanes...

    What keeps you coming back?

The almost total escape from the real world. I pass under that sign and leave my troubles behind me. I've been enough times that I know my way around. Also, the level of stress that comes with planning has gone way down now. And, no matter how many times I've been, I always find something new...

Which is your favorite park ...

Magic Kingdom will always hold my heart, but I spend a lot of evenings at EPCOT. I've never seen AK and DHS at night. I intend to change that next trip.

Is anyone going to miss the Universe of Energy?

I'll miss it, but I think this is the EPCOT we can expect from now on. I really miss the educational-entertainment that is quickly falling by the side of the road to be replaced with movie tie-ins. But what do you do with a place called Future World when the future is becoming outdated every...

What Rides / Attractions Are You "Retired" From???

Space Mountain as well. My lower back hurts after each ride now. Last visit was my final trip through space.

Rides on Keys to the Kingdom

Number of rides might depend on crowd levels as well. Our guide seemed to be getting real time info through his headset, because at one point he said we needed to get to HM right away. Great tour!! And I was by myself, so I got to sit with the tour guide at CHH. That way you get to ask a few...

    Disney's California Adventure - food?

    It's been 32 years!

I've got another one: Is there valet parking at the Disney hotels, or is it self-parking? Just curious. Not sure how much luggage I'm going to have. Might be nice if I don't have to lug it all the way across a parking lot. ; )

As always, thank you all for the replies. You've all been extremely helpful, and thanks for making this WDW vet feel at home. I've been wandering around this forum and it's stirred up some more questions. I've been reading a lot about hot cocoa and coffee during the fireworks. Does it really...

    It's been 32 years!

and a couple more questions: I'm still a smoker (please don't hate me). I also always follow the rules and use the designated smoking areas at WDW. I assume these exist at DLR as well? Is the monorail more of a ride than transportation, or can it be used to enter the parks?

    It's been 32 years!

Excellent guide! And extremely helpful. I'm even more excited then I was before! Thought of a couple more: with the refurb of Space Mountain, does it go upside down? That's a no-no for me. ; ) Thinking of staying at the DLH, but as the guide mentioned, it appears to be the longest walk to...
