The bands use touch-point, close-range RFID antenna tech, and longer-range, anonymizing (supposedly), beacon-based tracking. Two antennae in the band, actually. But that is diverting from the subject at hand. Glad Dis Bee is OK. And I hope Disney comes clean on their incident.

As well as pretty reliable, real-time tracking MagicBands (if I were to reckon a guess).

In today's social media world, not being truthful and transparent from the get-go (or as SOON AS info is known) is an example of PR idiocy. I would guess Disney will be getting in touch with Dis Bee very shortly, and we will hear no more of their experience.

Now Disney can just re-classify the mode of transportation as an "exciting new thrill ride for the whole family!" :sad2:

We were there this past April, and for the most part the groups seemed well-behaved.....except for a few times when a few large groups passed by our room (especially in the mornings) being rather (a lot) loud. And a few times at the dining places (El Mercado particularly) in the mornings which...

We were very much in the same boat on this last trip. Our last one prior to that was 8-ish ago. So, we were not up to speed on the MagicBands, FP+, etc. And given our previous type of visiting (very much un-regulated and very free-form.....often didn't even know which park we'd go to each...

We were there at the end of April and stayed in Ranchos 7B. Heard no construction then and were relatively close-ish (rather short walk) to the main pool.

Worst for me was on this last trip a couple weeks ago, when a chap who'd (I think) been 'drinking-around-the-world' was walking briskly towards me as I was coming out of the men's room outside Soarin'. He didn't make it to his final destination, and I looked over just in time to see the contents...

One of my first and most vivid childhood memories was melting down....absolutely melting down....in that room. And refusing to do the rest of the ride (younger sister laughing at me the whole time). And my mother having to ask an a CM to take us out and walking through a bright hallway to go out...

Haven't been able to go in a good while, but it was always relief after the drive, and a nice feeling of "We don't HAVE to do anything for a week." A true feeling of real-world escapism, which other vacations (while very nice in and of themselves) don't quite emulate.

How Magical®....tents plopped around the parks. Maybe a new area....RefugeeLand? :crazy2: I do think I am am really no longer the target audience for the Disney folks.

You'll be fine....the worst part is the Disco Yeti, not hurkin'-and-jerkin' at the end. Think John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, not really dancing and suffering from a broken razor and a slight glandular problem.;)

No worries......they are only the underwear-eating bedbugs. Just leave a sacrificial pair of drawers on the bed before you leave each day, and they will leave the rest of the room alone. That's why they sell underwear in the shops....it's to donate to the bugs. :thumbsup2

On our last trip, this was our experience, as well. We stayed at Hard Rock and went to Universal for the first time (after having driven past on our way to WDW for several years). Our stay at POR after Hard Rock (while decidedly different resort 'levels' I believe) was a tremendous buzz-kill...

Firstly....change your password (may I suggest something catchy, like "momcanpoundsand"?). Then, re-make your plans as you wish. Tell Mommy dearest that she is very welcome to visit with the Florida-fam as long as she wishes. And that you guys would be happy to meet them all for dinner one...
