    Grizzly River Run

I believe there are two sensors. The first one activates the geyser as your boat gets close, the second one shuts it off just before you get to it. Every now and then, the rafts are very close together so a second raft can start up the geyser while the raft in front of it is still nearby or...

    I have always wondered . . .

I recall waiting for the Dumbo ride at WDW as a kid. I think we probably waited an hour or two for it. I wasn't very old but my parents still bring it up. So not worth it. I won't do that for my future children. :lmao: These days 45 minutes is usually the max. Some rides I'm willing to...

    Weather? What clothes?

My upper body tends to get colder than the rest of me. So in those types of temps, I'm usually good in shorts and a t-shirt during the day and then I bring a sweatshirt for if I cold in the morning or evenings. We like to rent a locker for stuff like that. I think layers are always good.

    Disneyland countdown thread.....

Cool thread! I have a countdown in my signature but it's a countdown to the day we arrive in California. We're driving out so the countdown in my head (and here) will be to the day we leave home. 130 Days until we leave on our road trip!

    Grizzly River Run

Yeah, I don't really like getting drenched on water rides. A little wet is okay. But soaked is no fun.

Disneyland questions from a Disney World regular - any advice appreciated!

We've already rented cars onsite at John Wayne. The drop off is in the lot right by the terminal. Just a short walk.

Can you add me to the list? September 27th - October 1st, Anaheim Plaza. Thanks!

Disneyland questions from a Disney World regular - any advice appreciated!

You only get to the airport 1 hour early? I thought 2 hours was the recommended time. We try to get to the airport 1.5 to 2 hours early. I'm paranoid these days about getting there too late and checking-in too late. I don't want to lose my seat or not have my luggage checked in time. We're...

Do I need to plan rides etc?

Congratulations on the pregnancy! Thankfully, there will still be tons of rides you'll be able to do at Disneyland.

    Grizzly River Run

I haven't been on it in a long time. But if I'm remember correctly, there is a sensor that turns the geyser on as you get close but then off right before you reach it. Sometimes, depending on how close other rafts are, you can catch the tail end of the geyser and it kind of spills over the...

Do I need to plan rides etc?

Obviously you're going to get all kinds of answers since it really depends on your personality and the personalities of your family members. Some people NEED a plan or they go nuts. I, on the other hand, cannot imagine planning every single ride down to the minute. To me, that is...

    Halloween at DL

I found some old pictures we took around Halloween in 2005 and 2006 (the last time we were there in the Fall.) I thought I'd upload a few to post here. They aren't great pictures, by any means, but I thought I'd share them anyway.

Disneyland questions from a Disney World regular - any advice appreciated!

We have done San Diego in just a day. But we only wanted/planned to go to the Zoo so it wasn't a big deal.

Disneyland questions from a Disney World regular - any advice appreciated!

You will have so much fun at DL! Yay! Disneyland vacations are such a blast. Someone else said it could take 3-4 hours to get to San Diego. We've never found it to take that long at all. Maybe 2 hours in traffic. I suppose if you took the I-15 route it would take longer, but I'm not sure...

    Besides The DIS

I've never really looked at miceage or mouseplanet or really any of the other sites mentions here. So thanks, everyone! I'm definitely going to check them out! Sounds like here is the best forum atmosphere though.

Anyone know whats Indiana Jones Adventure?

It was my understanding that Indiana Jones and Dinosaur have identical tracks. Obviously much different themes though. I enjoy both rides quite a bit. I also love both Haunted Mansions. I do think I prefer the one at WDW just because I like the couple extra things they have (room with all...

    Besides The DIS

Interesting. Sounds more like something for locals or people that go a few times a year though. :(

Moving out, and I want a pet!

Have you considered getting a dog that is a bit older? We went to a shelter and got a dog who was around 2 years old. She never had a pee accident or anything in the house. It was great. www.petfinder.com is a good place to look. As far as taking it everywhere, just be sure you aren't...
