any harm in waiting until the rush is over to make Palo ressies?

Debbie, as wovenwonder said, don't wait too long (if at all) to make your Palo's reservations, they will fill up quickly. It's better to suffer your first couple hours on board doing the reservation hustle (Palo's, excursions, spa, kids club (last)) so that you can sit back and relax for the...

    Palo seating times

They have time slots from when they open for dinner until closing. You can choose whatever reservation time you want, as long as it's available. When we went (01/02), you can only reserve one night (dinner) AND brunch or high tea. Palo's is definately not to be missed!

Anyone else feeling guilty about the kids missing School?!

fojmo, RELAX! I seriously doubt that because your kid was absent a week from school and missed out on "crucial explanations of complex math and chemistry problems" that her professional career will now be in jeopardy. Just Chip, go and have fun. Believe me, the week your 4th grader (and...

    Magic - restaurant shows

Yes, but not if it's your first formal night. If your first AP night is formal, there will be NO show. You'll have the show on your next rotation there. (That's what happened to us.)

    Juices onboard

You can at your meals (no charge), otherwise you'll have to go to the bars ($). If you must have a certain kind, bring it and keep it in your room cooler.

    Milk....

There was only 1 type of milk available at the 24hr beverage station (machine dispensed). I don't know what kind it was, but I would be prepared for 'regular' milk. Even in the dining areas, our server never asked, "regular or low fat?". They just brought it out.

    Oceaneer's Lab??

My 7 y/o son brought along his NEW Gameboy Advance on our 7 day back in January. Never played with it on the entire cruise; had too much fun between the pool & kids club. Didn't spent too much time in the arcade either (just one $10- card!) and believe me, he's an avid Playstation 2 player at...

    Bike rentals at Castaway

I believe the Getaway Package (bike, snorkel, floats) was around $30-, $6.50 (?) just for the bike rental and I believe this can be booked in advance. As far as the time limit on the bikes go, I wouldn't worry about that. They have plenty of bikes (all sizes) there. It goes something like...

    Bike rentals at Castaway

My DW and DS (7) really enjoyed the bike ride. Terrain is mostly flat, 60% paved and 40% hard packed dirt. Offers a great view, Go for it!

What to miss if you eat at Palos?

kritters4: An option you have is to 'Double Dip', that way you won't miss your usual dinner rotation. If you have 1st seating, make your Palo reservation anytime before 10pm. Just eat light during your rotation dining! (I suppose you can do the opposite if you have the 2nd seating). Hope...

Do we need to prebook Castaway Cay excusions?

Went on the 1/26 sailing, and I can only speak about the bike rentals (because that's what we did). They were PLENTY of bicycles available, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that one. In fact, our ticket had a rental time of 9:30am, but we didn't go there until 10:30 to 11am and it was not...

Airline baggage dropoff at Port to Airport

Also returned from the 1/26 sailing. Sorry, but Delta is NOT one of them (to offer port baggage check-in). I know because that's the airline that I flew.

Trip Report: 7 day Magic, Jan 26 - Feb 2

Jill: The adjoining rooms are seperated by 2 doors (with dead bolts). When closed, we were able to hear some voices when spoken at a moderate to loud level; slightly muffled. BTW, 5522 (my sister-in-laws room) had a less obstructed view out the porthole than ours.

Trip Report: 7 day Magic, Jan 26 - Feb 2

Cast: me, DW, DS (7) Rather than give you a day to day account, I’ll report by topics. Room: We stayed in 5524 (secret porthole stateroom) which is an adjoining room with 5522 (where my sister-in-law and her daughter stayed). Our room was very nice and provided more than enough room for...
