Your costume sounds really cool, but be careful with any costume weapons at Disney. I go to Renaissance Faires and Science Fiction conventions where people wear costumes with the appropriate *costume* weapons and there is a practice for those called "peace"tying". It means that you secure your...

I just started using mine too. It's fun! Make sure you use that positioning grid that came with your hoop. It makes placement really easy! There are lots of good places to get designs, but Planet Applique (google it and it will come right up) is having a sale right now. There are loads of...

I'm new at applique myself so I'm afraid I'm no help with that. The bag is super cute though! I absolutely love the Mickey bag too! Where did you get the fabric for it? I need black with white Mickeys. A friend of mine went on a Disney cruise and bought a swim cover up that her husband...

Here's the bad news: Y'know that business trip to Orlando that the Mr. asked me to go along on? I just this morning got on the facebook page for the Disney Store that I work at and asked if anybody would be able to take the two shifts that I was on the schedule for during that time. Then the Mr...

That turned out so well! My first three embroidery projects were beach towels, which I had to send out in a hurry so never got pictures of. If it was hard, I didn't know it because I'd never done anything before. Kind of like bumblebees and flying, right? :lmao:

That's all they do unless you turn the tension up as high as it will go and the stitch length as long as it will go. Take note of where you had the settings first so you can put it back easily. I think you can use it to ruffle and sew to the base garment at the same time too, but I'm not sure...

Smart-people jokes crack me up. I know guys who used "pi" or the infinity symbol as the number on their pinewood derby cars back when they were boy scouts.

The Mr. Is going on a quick business trip to Orlando in a little less than 2 weeks and I might get to go along! . :cool1:. He has to do some preparatory work on line and then he gets the particulars regarding the hotel and whatnot, but he thinks it will be either the Hyatt that's right inside...

Just wanted to say thanks for the velcro advice and see if my new signature worked. I got tired of typing it out every time. ;)

I did the same with the washing on the beach towels I just appliqued. That last wash to get rid of the Solvy can just be a rinse and spin. It does a good job and it saves on the water and detergent. Lori in East Podunk

Does anyone have any tips for sewing the stiffer, rougher side of the velcro? I put some tear away stabilizer over it, and that helped, but the stitches still weren't great. They still got caught in the "hooks" a little. I was using 3/4 inch squares on a doll's hands so she will be able to hold...

Ooh! That's a drag! Spray adhesive might work. You can get it at JoAnn Fabrics. HTH! Lori in East Podunk

I just appliqued my first beach towel! It turned out so cute! I'm doing three altogether. Two of them are for teen aged girls, one girly-girl and one pseudo-goth (likes black and studs, etc, but no nasty attitude). I was going to put a pair of pink, green and yellow flip flops on a pink and...

I did it! :woohoo: I extracted a file, put it on a stick, loaded it on Minerva pixiedust: and stitched that Bad Boy out! I have brain cramps :dance3: from techno-overload, but I did it! Next I will master the wilds of Photobucket! Just you wait and see! Thanks for the help...

OK. I just saved each file as it was sent to me. I take it that's not what I was supposed to do. I know this sounds stupid, but how can I see which format to choose. Is that where unzipping comes in? I never could figure that out, but it looks like I need to now! Should I erase everything on the...

Question:I bought some applique designs from several vendors and loaded them on a brand new usb stick. Then I checked to make sure they really were there. When I try to use one on my PE770 following the manual, all I get on the little screen is a picture of two file folders. One says EMBROI~1...

Molly has discs that are used for all the different stitches. I have the button hole disc, but it's a 4 step process and I have to figure out the size. Hermione does completely automated button holes all in one go. They're good ones, so I think I'll be using Herms for them. She overcasts well...
