    our upcoming trip...sound do-able?

thanks! Actually, I went back and made an adjustment today after looking at the drive and decided we would stop near Bishop (Keough Springs) for a night and then hit Yosemite so that it's not such a long drive. And yep, we've already booked Alcatraz, doing the evening tour. Thanks again...

    our upcoming trip...sound do-able?

we're fast approaching our upcoming trip to CA and just wondering if anyone had any input on our planned itinerary: Day 1 - Fly into Las Vegas, pick up our mini camper. Day 2,3 - Drive from Vegas up to Yosemite, 2 nights in the campgrounds, one in Tuolumne Meadows and one in North Pines...

    favorite resort pre-Christmas

We have reservations at our home resort (BCV) from Dec. 19 - 25, 2014. We've stayed here for Christmas before, we've stayed at Wilderness Lodge for Thanksgiving and we've spent time at most of the other DVC resorts at one time or another. If we were to change our reservation at the 7 month...

availability poss. at GCV in late August?

How easy/difficult (at 7 month window) is it to get a few nights at GCV the last 2 weeks in August, either Studio or 1BR? We're planning a trip out to CA and it includes plans to use some points for a stay there. Deb

ideas for our road trip LV to CA

I just booked our summer vacation 2014, flying in to Las Vegas and renting a car for a 10 day trip to CA. Using some of our DVC points to stay at GCV. Other than that we're open to options. What can we realistically do in 10 days in California if we start or end in Anaheim. Our kids will be...

some advice using 102 points before Sept. 2014

Yes, they are already banked points so we do have to use by 9/20/14. Funny you should mention HHI...I was toying with the idea of going there since that's one that we have yet to visit. That's another possibility. Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

some advice using 102 points before Sept. 2014

I've never had a problem deciding what to do with points before, but we had to cancel a reservation and now I'm trying to decide what would be our best option. We have 102 points which have to be used in our Sept. use year, so we have a little less than a year which is no problem. We're...

Vero Beach for Easter...ideas for brunch/dinner

Since this is our first time to the Vero Beach Resort, I'm welcoming any suggestions for our Easter Sunday meal, as well as any others for the rest of the week. Is there an Easter Brunch right at the resort? Thanks! Deb

VWL owners, now I get it!

we did go over to FW...took a boat ride over there yesterday to check it out and decided to have lunch at Trail's End. What a pleasant surprise! Great menu! All my son wanted was the cornbread and they brought him an entire loaf with the most wonderful sweetened creamy butter...it was heaven...

VWL owners, now I get it!

For the first time in the 9 years we've owned DVC (at BCV,) we are staying at VWL...down here now for Thanksgiving and I have to say...it's awesome! I've read so many posts of how everyone loves this resort. Being from Michigan, it holds even more appeal for us, especially this time of the...

    Vwl

we own at BCV and booked 2BR, VWL at 7 months out for this Thanksgiving. We were able to get our first three nights Nov. 17, 18 and 19 at VWL and the last 3 at BCV right away. We wait listed for the last three nights at VWL and surprisingly, today we received an email that it came through...

    VWL for the first time/Thanksgiving...

I think VWL is the only DVC property at which we have not yet stayed. Home resort is BCV but after a bit of a wait, we have VWL for our entire Thanksgiving week. A good time to stay? I thought the wilderness theme might be a bit inviting as the holidays approach.

thanks for your quick reply! I could not remember what the rule was...it does make sense.

parking at your home resort when not staying....

I know this has probably been asked many times but I can't find it on a search. If BCV is our home resort, but we are not staying there, are we allowed to park there and walk into Epcot?

does anyone get solicitors by phone anytime you've booked a stay at your DVC?

I'm noticing that anytime we have booked a stay at our DVC resort, we get a number of solicitation phone calls asking if we want sell our timeshare or that we've won a fantastic vacation to WDW. It's getting really annoying and my husband and I are not happy.

    VB instead of HH?

thanks everyone! I'm feeling now, that we made a good decision to back it up with Vero. We'll have our own car so traveling off property won't be a problem. And I do love Florida! Really appreciate the time you all took to comment! Deb

Tell us 1 thing you love, and 1 thing you highly dislike about your home resort.

BCV: Love - the pool of course and the ability to walk to Epcot. Hate - how worn out the rooms have become. It is in serious need of updating. Made me sad to see the wear and tear when we were there last year.

    VB instead of HH?

thanks for the replies! I think the fact that we're driving from Michigan is what has me preferring HH but we've drove to Florida before so I'm sure we'll be happy at VB. I visited VB many years ago and thought it was beautiful town.

    VB instead of HH?

Yesterday I booked our Easter spring break vacation. Seven month window and we were hoping for HH since we've never been but of course, not available for the days we wanted. As a backup, I wait listed and went ahead and booked an ocean view Inn room at Vero Beach, as we've never been there...
