6/29/15 Magic to Norway & Iceland

Unfortunately, this change is not OK with me. I love Torshavn. Most likely we will just take another TA. Then it's only one TA flight. The trip is longer and much lower in price. The EBTA in May 2015 appears interesting. Sad!

6/29/15 Magic to Norway & Iceland

We had a 1BR suite on one of our TA crossings. It is the only concierge cabin we've had. This was on the Magic. The old ships have no concierge lounge or separate sun deck. The plus is the dedicated check in which we get already as Platinums. There really was not much pampering. The suite was...

6/29/15 Magic to Norway & Iceland

Where you are from: I’m Nobbi, born in Germany, moved to Florida at the age of 12, went to school in Daytona Beach and university in Atlanta. I spent most of my career in the San Francisco Bay Area. There I met my husband Jack. We have been together 20 years. We were finally able to get married...

    Disney has priced us out.

The repos are the best deal. We (2 adults) are paying $2800 for the September 2014 14d WBTA in a balcony on the magic. As platinums we were able to book the summer itineraries on Wednesday. We chose the 11d Norway/Iceland journey. The same cabin type is over $9500. And I heard there are less...

    February 15th, 2014 Fantasy - Western

Hello, all! We just booked this cruise to celebrate my partner's 60th birthday on 2/19. This will be DCL #12 for us. We are about to do #10 & 11, Vancouver to LA with a back to back Panama Canal crossing. The Feb cruise will only be our second Fantasy voyage. The others have been on the...

    Christopher Elliott's article on tipping . . .

I think this is true. Tipping is a very American thing. The Europeans are much "stingier" since there service folks make living wages. Many cruise passengers have no idea how low the wages are. Some waiters in Germany have refused my 20% tip saying it was way too much.

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

We're on this. Should be loads of fun. Segways are great although it seems someone always falls off! lol.

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

The info above about the dcl rep close to delta baggage claim is correct. I believe when you check your bags with the airline, put your dcl tag on also. Then they will retrieve your checked luggage for you and put it on the bus. (Please clarify this; don't want to tell you wrong.) Also...

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

That's normal! When Jack & I traveled with some women friends, they each had one bag. Between formal and semi-formal and Palo, we had several bags for suits, tuxes, tails, etc. It's much easier to roll up a slinky dress. :)

    September 9, 2013 - WONDERful re-positioning trip to LA

In the past we have been able to book the transfer back to the airport onboard. Perhaps because this is a short cruise, it would be better to prebook. Call DCL or your travel agent if booked thru one. We have often taken the dcl transfers.

back to back cruise question (castaway levels)

We'll be in the same predicament going from gold to platinum in September. We want to get off in LA to visit with family, then go to the plat/concierge area for boarding. I will have to argue with them for plat lanyards.
