They will take photos at the expo and compare them after the finish of each race to verify you completed the race. Doesn't look like the photos are mandatory. It will be interesting to see how the process works.
Disney has done right on the "Perfect" gifts for the marathon, from what I've heard. The 5 year sash for Goofy was pretty lame. They may try to make up for it for 10 year.
Interesting.....if, IF, it is true (1) when would they do the 10K? at the same time as the 5K on Friday morning? and (2) would doing Dopey count towards Perfectly Goofy?
All signed up for 3 days of racing. The new course for the full should be interesting....more congestion at the castle and more time out on the hot highway...but hopefully worth it for the run through Wide World of Sports.
Consider volunteering at a race or 2. Watching all the runners, from the speedsters at the front to the happy people at the back, normally puts things in perspective for me. And its always good for your race karma....
I totally agree with what's been said:
- figure out how to get calories in. For up to 40 miles or so I plan on using just Infinit and nibble on whatever real food appeals to me. For longer stuff I need real food. I always crave salty/crunchy rather than sweet...but everyone is different...
Betsy is correct. Jon is with EMMI...they do timing and logistics for many races, including some Disney races. The events are developed by Disney staff.
When I saw the relay announcement I assumed they would keep the same number of slots and fill them either with solo runners or a relay team. They would get extra registration money on the relay team and (most importantly to Disney) get 4x the revenue in the parks/hotels/restaurants for each...
I took the list from www.perfectlygoofy.com (http://www.perfectlygoofy.com/2011PerfectlyGoofy.html) and compared it to this year's finishers. I had 28 who didn't do it this year from that list. I thought there were 190 after last year. The numbers obviously don't add up.
you may want to look at the Vivo Evo too...same concept as the VFF but no seperate toes. I, too, have gnarly rolled-over little toes and the VFF can chafe.
