Norwalk Woes on the 02/01 Western - Comments, Praise, a few Gripes (Long)

Dave in The Frozen North, We were also on the 2/1 Western Cruise. Fortunately no one in our family was ill (2 adults and 3 children). I just want to thank you and your family for being so considerate in being careful not to spread the virus. Your thoughtfullness may have saved my family...

Thanks for the quick response Michelle. I guess there is no excuse not to do a couple classes and try to burn off some of the dinner calories :p

    Nassau or not to Nassau?

After my family's (kids ages 3, 9 & 10 DW and DH) experience at Nassau, I'd highly reccomend staying on board the Wonder. The beach was ok, but you had to deal with all of the natives trying to sell you stuff or trying to get you to ride their junky jet skis. The surf was a bit strong for my...

    Can't afford excursions!!!

One thing you can do, the kids will love, and is fairly affordable is the banana boat ride at Castaway Cay. It may not be a real type excursion, but I gaurentee everyone will have a blast.

Prior cruisers react to first time on DCL

mmouse37, When I was a kid, my family had a small cottage in Rockport. My favorite spot was the little beach across from the Peg Leg restaurant and the toy store on the main shopping street. What great memories I have of that place. Thanks for reminding me about them.

Are there any great deals to be had?

How to get a price quote for a Disney Cruise with Cosco? Do you have to be a member to get a quote?

Prior cruisers react to first time on DCL

I don't eat at McDonald's and enjoy really good food. I'm not into totally gourmet type food or dining. Too stuffy for me and the atmosphere isn't much fun for us either. We loved our dining experience on the 4 day Wonder cruise. Food was great, our server was the best and we ate plenty of...

    2/01/03 Western

It takes about 1.25 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic and how fast you drive. We left the Animal Kingdom Lodge at 10am and arrived at the port around 11:20am. Check-in was a breeze and we were on the boat shortly after noon.

    2/01/03 Western

If you really want to stay at the WL, I would book now at the lowest rate, then keep checking to see if you can get a better deal. If you do, simply cancel your current reservation and rebook with the new lower rate. This way you will be gaurenteed a room no matter what. You may not get $135...

How many choices do you get?!

    2/01/03 Western

BabyJosie98, Awesome!!! WL is a great choice. We may be joining you there also. I haven't decided yet, but if we do decide to go down a couple days early, that is where we will stay. We are DVC members and that is our home resort. We love it there. - Brian (aka - BCBURGNER)

    Magic vs Pride

I just can't seem to get these "cheaper" rates with RCCL or Carnival. I've tried many of the ships mentioned for each cruise line, but when trying to get an outside room with a balcony for 5 people, the DCL cat 4 room price just can't be beat. Perhaps when I am looking for an experience...

How many choices do you get?!

Wow - I find it hard to believe that a cruise line would limit your meal to one entree. My server won't see much of a tip if this is what he tells me. In fact, I may choose another cruise line if this is the case. The gourging of oneself is part of the whole cruise experience. It's the one...

How many choices do you get?!

My wife and I were surprised by the number of people who didn't realize that the cruises are basically an "all you can eat" type of deal. We ordered many appetizers, dinners and desserts. Our server was great because he knew we would do this and would just put togther plates full of entres for...

Disney Magic vs. Voyager of the Seas-Side by side comparison

After reading all of the great comments on the Voyager, I just had to call RCL directly and get a quote from them on the same type of room and same time period. We are scheduled to cruise on Feb 1, 2003 on the Magic. We have a cat.4 family room for $4,450. For the same time, Feb 2, 2003 and a...
