College Program Questions Thread, Pt 3

I recommend adding yourself to the "Disney College Program Fall 2012" group on Facebook. Someone definitely posted that information about housing on the group. There's all kinds of valuable information there!

San Angel & Marrakesh, which for lunch, which for dinner?

I like San Angel for lunch. I've had one great experience at Marrakesh and one bad. In January of 2009, I went with a large group of friends for dinner. The atmosphere was great, with a belly dancing show, and the food was excellent. I had the lamb shank with couscous and loved it. I went...

HELP: food poisoning in the middle of the week!

Yesterday was day 2 of our trip; we went to Epcot and ate at Merrakesh for dinner. I had the lamb shank and couscous, while Caroline had the beef kabobs with hummus. We both ate baklava. When Illuminations started, she was nowhere to be found...turns out she was tossing her cookies into some...

    Acne

Oh, girl, I hear you. I'm 19 and I've had it since I was 11. I get it on my back too, which is gross. I live in Louisiana and the humidity makes it so much worse. I've tried every over-the-counter stuff - including Proactiv - but none of that really helped. I'm on Yaz right now...it's my third...

    "Papa? Do you think I'm...odd?"

Thanks guys. Most days I don't care at all! Just every now and then I get that awkward, different feeling. :confused3 I'm glad I have this place!! :grouphug:

fictional characters you feel emotionally attached to

Harry. Freakin. Potter. And all his friends. :) Lol I've been in love with HP for literally half my life. I was pretty attached to the Everwood characters...that was a show that came on the WB/CW (whatever you wanna call it) a couple years ago.

    Who am I? (game)

Yes, she's a Disney character. She isn't a princess, but she is a movie star. She isn't Belle, but her husband is furry like the Beast.

Which water park would you go to?

I've honestly never been to Typhoon, but I think I'd prefer it. Blizzard Beach is nice, but it's a lot like the water park close to home. And it's CROWDED. I've heard lots of comments about Typhoon being more laid back, which I'd like. Of course, if you prefer thrill rides and such, Blizzard...

Theme Park Shoe Tips & Ouchies

Thanks so much for the tips! I don't own tennis shoes, but I wore my Sperrys to the parks last year and they were fine. I hate the look of Crocs, but I'm referring to the "beachy" ones...so I might invest in a different style...just for the parks, of course! :upsidedow

    POLL: Remembering this Disney Decade

Does anyone know when the Disney Institute closed? I read a kids' book about it when I was younger - the Disney Girls series - and ever since I wanted to try it. :\ I agree with geogat...I grew up in this decade (I was 10 in 2000) so as I got older I came into my own and discovered the magic...

    Silouettes?

I don't know the price, as I was about 10 when I had mine done, but I remember that it doesn't take long! It took less time for the silhouette than paintings/caricatures do...15-20 minutes if I had to guess? And they look so pretty, like Victorian-style! :)

Cut the grumpy CM's some slack

I can definitely see both sides...on one hand, we pay so much that of course we expect to get the "magical Disney service." On the other hand, a lot of CMs don't get much vacation, so if there is a death in the family or some other crisis in their life, it's probably immensely difficult to just...

What are you wearing to the parks?

A school group took a trip last January, and we thought it would be cold, so I only brought jeans (and t-shirts, with jackets over them). I was fine in the morning - there was a lot of mist! - but boy, by the middle of the day, I was warm! :sunny: Ugh. So this time I'll bring a couple pairs of...

How strict on adult costume rule

No, I don't do that at McD's...:lmao: I can imagine how ridiculous that would be. Okay, this is me with my tail between my legs, sorry for that, I usually never pick catfights on here, dunno what got into me... :rolleyes1 In any case, I'm glad it worked out for the OP!! Oh and for the...

1st or 2nd week of December - crowds?

My parents went the first week of December. They said that the first couple of days weren't bad, but by the end of the week it was pretty crowded. My mom was surprised to see little kids everywhere...they never took me out of school for something trivial like vacation, but I guess parents now...
