That's terrible, and a perfect example of why people can't fault other people for not wanting to tip housekeeping. A tip used to be a token of appreciation for someone going the extra mile for you. Now people just expect it. Sorry, why should I feel obligated to tip a maid when I go in my room...

It could be because other posters feel the need to call them "rude" or "cheap."
