    USCG Eagle and DCL

Many good memories of the Eagle, visited it many times during my CG career. Great pix of my kids at the helm during a NYC visit. Sailed alongside her during OPSAIL 86 and OPSAIL 92. Count ADM PAPP, USCG (Ret) as one of the finest officers the CG ever produced, he was CO of Eagle for 5 years...

Oasis of the Seas - Is it Really THAT Bad????

One more thing, in St Thomas and St Martin, where we stopped, we found local tours that we could take ourselves instead of booking on the ship and saved a bunch of money that way. Hopefully they have restocked the pizza shop, my grandsons ate tons of it! :c)

Oasis of the Seas - Is it Really THAT Bad????

We just got off Oasis last week from a 7 day cruise. We have cruised on a variety of lines and RC is our favorite (next to Disney when we can save enough $$ to afford it). We went with our daughter and 2 grandsons and had side by side balcony cabins. Everything was clean, neat and the service...

    RV'ing from Disneyland to Disneyworld

That's a nice looking rig you've got there. Just a thought, check those tires. Look for the DOT date code on the sidewalls, should be a number something like this: 2415, which means the tire was made the 24th week of 2015. Conventional wisdom in the RV world is tires older than 7 years, no...

R ecommendations for campground close to Disney

We live on the East Coast and often go to Disney World and stay at Fort Wilderness. Our granddaughters recently moved to San Fran, CA area (military dad). They've never had a chance to visit any Disney park and we want to take them to Disneyland in our RV. We're unfamiliar with the area...

    Disney Fantasy -- Mechanical Problems

We just returned from a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy. Sadly, the ship suffered an engineering breakdown on one of the shafts and couldn't sail at her normal cruising speed. The captain came on and apologized for the problem and said the stop at Castaway Cay was cancelled due to the need to...

    Key West trolley tour opinions

We've done both, the Conch Train you ride the whole way and can't hop off to visit attractions on the route, with either trolley, you can get on and off at your pleasure. Both the Conch Train and the trolley drivers do narrate the sites around KW.

Why would anyone go to a Johnny Rockets on a cruise ship?

We walked the decks at night and when we went past the JR, there were a bunch of crew members inside eating. Maybe they get tired of the normal cruise food they are served???

DCL vs Royal Caribbean, Opinion after traveling on both

We just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. Last January, we did a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy. That gave us a good feel for both lines and I hope this will help someone who is trying to decide which line to sail on. One of the most noticeable things was...

    Disney fantasy shows..best/worst?

We just returned from our cruise on the Fantasy. We took in every show and we enjoyed them all, but Wishes was a little boring. Not to say the cast didn't do a good job, but the premise of the show was stale. The Pirate show on the main deck is great fun for kids, but get there way early...

    RV show

RV shows sure are fun but I try to stay away from them. New RVs have a way of following me home! :drive:

Would you buy new or used RV?

Whatever you decide, if you're planning on towing a trailer with a car and a motorcycle, pay close attention to the RV's weight (GVWR), its carrying capacity (CCC), its combined total weight rating (GCWR) of the RV, trailer, car and motorcycle weight and the hitch tow rating (is it a 5000 lb...

    Snakes & other critters?

I did see a black (King) snake at the Fort once. I wonder how they got the Mickey ears to stay on its head? :rotfl2:

    Cart size?

We were able to slide the stroller over the upright bar that extends up from the rear bumper. I don't know what you'd call that bar, hand hold, safety bar? :confused3 We didn't have to bungee it, it stayed by itself. Best Regards!

Tee Time Golf Carts - Problem & Resolution

We booked a six seater cart from Kenny. The day before we arrived, we got a call saying the six seater was damaged by the previous renter and was unavailable for us. So he gave us two four seater carts and only charged us for one at the four seater price. We were happy with that and he went...

    Big Rigs

We've been to the Fort annually since 2002 and have been in a variety of sites in different loops. Since 2007 we've been going in our 40' Winnebago Journey (ok, it's 39ft, 11 inches long) and have fit in every site we've been given. :thumbsup2 Sometimes it takes a little jockeying to get in...

    Diesel vs, gas

I am a full time RVer and currently have a 2007 Winnebago Journey 39 ft diesel pusher (Cat 350). My pevious RV was a 2003 35 ft Winnebago Adventurer (gas, Workhorse chassis, GM 8.1 litre V-8) so I can compare the two. We tow a car and towed the same car with both RVs. The DP is much bigger...

    Help! No experience in RVing!

Renting one is good advice. There is a Cruise America RV rental location right in Orlando. It will be money well spent as you can experience the good and bad points without a heavy inve$tment. Best Regards!

    Tropical Palms Resort?

I stayed at TP in Jan 2010 when we left a day earlier to beat out a winter storm, then went to FW for our annual WDW trip. FW was booked and we had to go elsewhere for that one day. TP gave us a muddy site with six inches of water for a mere $86. The site was very tight to the neighbors on...

    WDW Expansion query

Often Disney will paint the partitions to match the decor, like a partition in Main Street will be painted like a storefront. Last year the Castle had some work going on and the partitions were painted exactly like the bricks, you had to look closely to see it. It won't be an issue and if...
