Hey, going to DW in late October and I've heard from a family member that Space Mountain is going to be closed down while I'm there. Is this true? I hope not, as this is my first trip ever to DW and Space Mountain is one of the rides I've heard the most about!

Well that's a bit disappointing. I can understand why though. So I have to just wait until I'm at one of the parties to put on a costume.

I'm going to be at DW over Halloween this year and I was wondering just what DW does special for the holiday. Also, can I dress up and go anywhere in the park in costume or can I only go to certain places? Seems like I heard somewhere that you can only be in costume at certain places.

My first trip to DW is coming up Halloween of next year and I was wanting to know if people are allowed to wear costumes in the park? I'm assuming they can I just want to be sure. Also, is it considered "acceptable" to dress up as a non-Disney character? I understand these may be "gimmie"...

I'm going to be staying at the Pop Century over Halloween in 2009 so I'm glad to hear so many good reports about it. My main concern, other than a clean room of course, was how long it would take to get into the parks from the hotel.

@maryjean: Are there perks for having a first time button? I'm assuming there are since you mentioned wearing one. @GApeach0407: I definitely plan on catching some fireworks shows! We are actually going to be at DW during Halloween next year. What goes on during that time?
