My son the SKINNY GIANT!!!! at 13

I can sympathise my 17 year old is just the same. We managed to get him school trousers in Next as they have 28" waist and a choice of lengths but they cost a fortune. Luckily now he can wear whatever he wants to sixth form college and he doesn't mind baggy jeans. Shoes are a nightmare he also...

Tidal Wave in S E Asia

Just to let everyone know that Fiona, Steve and the children are ok. They were up in the mountains and hadn't known about it until one of Fionas shop staff phoned their mobile to see if they were alright. We haven't heard anything from them since but assume that all is still ok and that they...

    Kali River Rapids

The Kali River Rapids is our family's favourite ride. The first time we rode it we got soaked and walked around the park all day soaking wet (not nice). But now we have a much simpler solution... Just inside the park entrance gate (on the left) are some restrooms and lockers you can rent...

    Need London Sightseeing Advice

London Eye is good but make sure you have a guide with you so they can point out the landmarks. I would also suggest a river trip from Westminster Pier, down the river to Tower Bridge, Greenwich and to see the Thames flood barrier. You can get off at Greenwich to go and see the observatory.

Any Brits Done a Disney Cruise?

We have and fell in love with cruising. There were four of us (including 2 teenagers) in a cat 3 cabin, we all had a great time. Would definately recommend having a verandah, it was perfect for early morning coffee and a view of the ocean. I don't know if you are travelling with children but...

    August weather

Also from the UK and going on Saturday. This will be our third time going in August and all I can say is it will rain but it is nothing like the rain here in the UK. It is very heavy, warm and short lived not drizzling, cold and all day long. We never take any form of jacket etc as even in...

    Sanibel/sarasota Any Advice?

We went to Sarasota in 1996 with children aged 5 and 9, and really enjoyed it. Siesta Key has a great beach. It has lifeguards, gently sloping beach, beautiful sand (But a bit powdery for sandcastles!). Thoroughly recommended. Oh, and the water is lovely and warm (28 degrees C). The only...

    JVC Camcorder Question

Bekki, I have a much simpler, and well used solution. When you go out of an air conditioned / cool and dry environment to a warm and humid one - put the whole camcorder inside a polythene bag, making sure it is sealed airtight. Do this BEFORE you go out. Then, after you've gone outside...

    Comfy kids shoes

I was going to suggest Elefanten too especially if your DD has narrow feet. My DD has been wearing these every time we go to Florida and they are really comfy like springers and they go upto size 5 at least

    Very silly question

Welcome and living near to the other Worcester (the one in the UK) I know how annoying it can be for people to mispronounce it. Try pronouncing Leominster (a place near Worcester), it's pronounced Lemster not leominster as in leo the lion! BTW Worcester sauce in the UK is pronounced the same as...
