    Port COVID Testing

Were you able to cancel without a positive test? I am worried, since we are set to sail next week and there have been 3 positive cases at work, including 2 people I share space with. Did you have to have a positive test in order to cancel? And did you have to call DCL directly, or go through...

    Olga’s Cantina tips and suggestions

We had this happen a couple of weeks ago. When we realized that the times would likely coincide, we stopped at Oga's earlier in the morning and asked for advice. The cast member said definitely go to your Oga's reservation first, then Rise. That's what we did and it worked out well. Especially...

Concierge differences on Magic and Fantasy

We have been in both and definitely prefer the Magic lounge. I love sitting in the chairs overlooking the adult pool area, and you can see the ocean. The Magic lounge is on deck 10, and I believe all of the concierge staterooms are on deck 8. The Fantasy lounge is really convenient if your...

Disney Cruise Line to Add New Concierge Staterooms to Disney Magic

I agree. There are not that many cabanas available. I have always suspected that they already do that, but I am not sure. We have always gotten a requested cabana, but we always send the email at exactly 12a EST when booking opens. We have also been in Cat T rooms, so who knows?

Disney Cruise Line to Add New Concierge Staterooms to Disney Magic

Yep, you will not want to go back! :) Palo and potentially getting a Cabana at Castaway Cay are amazing perks. Not to mention the lounge and amazing hosts. We sailed concierge as a "one-time splurge" for our 25th. Guess what? All 3 sailings since have been concierge. :rotfl2:

Disney Cruise Line to Add New Concierge Staterooms to Disney Magic

So, I am guessing that the guests who have already booked those rooms between Oct 2 and Jan 30 will get a comp upgrade to concierge? That would be amazing pixie dust!

Never been this unprepared!! Help on Fantasy Cruise

I would add that on the Fantasy (and Dream), there is also a balcony for seating in the Walt Disney Theater. There are some great views from the balcony, but be warned of the columns. If you choose a balcony seat, make sure you can see the entire stage without obstruction from the columns. :)...

    First DCL cruise was.......

Our first was a 4 night Dream cruise out of PC as part of a land and sea vacation. We were new to cruising and were not sure if it would be our "thing". We had the next (7 night Fantasy) cruise booked before debarkation! :rotfl2:

The Cabana Beach excursion in Cozumel...

I am looking at booking this for our upcoming cruise. Questions for those who have done it: Did you like it? Would you do it again? Is there a safe for valuables in the cabana, or do you carry them with you if you snorkel and/or explore other parts of the park? Is it easy to get to other parts...

2 days in Miami hotel recommendations

Last January, we stayed 3 nights pre-cruise at the Hampton Inn Brickell. It was a great location, right in the middle of a fun restaurant and shopping area. It is also next to the transit, so it is easy to get around. They had a shuttle to the port (reasonable, but I can't remember the price)...

    Favorite deck on the Dream?

LOL, this! If not deck 12, 8 mid is our favorite. Not too far up or down for anything, and we usually don't feel motion in the stateroom.

How crowded are the Magic laundry rooms?

On our last 2 cruises, we gave up the stress of the laundry rooms and used the the ship laundry service. We only sent the things we knew we wanted to wear again, not everything. It was worth every penny! We plan to do the same on our next cruise in January.

Can someone explain concierge value to me?

For us, concierge cruising is all about ease and comfort. Could I cruise without it? Sure, our first 6 Disney cruises were non-concierge and they were amazing, too. It is all about the convenience things that have been mentioned. Plus, the concierge lounge has what we call the "magic cupboard"...

    AK and EMH

If you have an evening to close out AK, that can be a better time to ride FOP without at FP+. We got in line at 9:50p (10p park closing time) last Friday and the posted time was 105 minutes. It was 32 minutes from when we got in line, to when we entered the pre-show. There was also the bonus of...

    Teppan Edo...Honestly

We dined at Teppan Edo once, and it was one and done for us. It was fine, with a few Disney touches, but we have had better hibachi experiences at home. I would say it would be worth trying, especially if you like hibachi and there isn't another restaurant that you are considering instead.

    Pre-planning Land and Sea

We have done several land and sea vacations and we always love it! I think we have tried most combinations. Our favorite combo is a 4 night cruise and 3-4 nights at WDW. We are also DVC members and here is how we typically break it down: 1 night before the cruise in a deluxe studio at WDW (we...

    Opinions on motion sickness

This! I can ride Soarin' and FOP with no problem, but Star Tours always makes me feel queasy. I also have slight issues if I ride Mission Space Green, so I avoid it.

Rope Drop Experiences Spring Break 2019

We were at WDW 3/23-3/30. This was our first-ever Spring Break trip and it definitely lived up to the hype for being busy. Wow! We did RD at MK on 3/25. We left BLT about 8:15 and walked to the MK. I believe we went through the tap styles around 8:30-8:35 and walked back to the Adventureland...

If you could be on any Disney ship at this very moment, what do you wish you were doing?

One of my favorite things to do, is wander the ship late in the evening (post dinner and show) to enjoy the music and activities. Ideally, I would have a glass of Moet Ice in hand. ;) Otherwise, I would love to be relaxing in Cabana #8, with a perfect view of the ship!
