Guess I'm gonna ask for Pixie Dust, too.

Darn! Hard things, Kristy. I'm sorry to hear of them. Sometimes it seems like there's just too much bad news to process it all, but give yourself time. You know, I give your son a lot of credit for figuring out how to make his vision work the best for him (in discovering his null point. I hadn't...

    PARTIALLY SIGHTED

Good questions....... I think from what you've described, the greatest problem will be dealing with the darkness in a lot of the rides. Particularly the wait to get to the ride can be dark and because the paths can be uneven, it can be difficult. I don't know if this would work for you or not...

    Different Parks

SueM, you got it, girl! The Safari Ride was that nasty wait plus, what made it even worse, was the fact that they were very inattentive so people in wheelchairs went down the line too far along and then had to back up. (Plus they had the audacity to blame us with chairs for the mistake. Since...

    Different Parks

I don't know if this is the place or the way to address this but.....I can't think of a better spot. (Please let me know if you have suggestions, however. I'm open to them.)So, here goes: After spending some time at WDW the first week in April, with my daughter in a wheelchair for most of the...

Update on March 13-20 Mobility report

What a terrible thing to have happened! I certainly hope your niece is all right and that the others involved that were hurt recover fully. You're in my thoughts!

    Swan or Dolphin

I just got back from a 6 day stay at the Dolphin with my daughter. She ended up unexpectedly in a wheelchair for the last 4 days. When we checked in, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony. This was on a "teacher rate". Because it turned out that room had been smoked in...

Hungry? Don't Want to Spend Alot of $$$ ?

I'm speaking as a vegetarian here & mother to a young teen....... We've always enjoyed the bake potato stand outside of United Kingdom in Epcot. You can get Fish & Chips there too, I think, but the potato makes a fine light meal for us. And nearby, is Beach Club's "Beaches & Cream" restaurant...

    Relax while having wonderful Desert...

I never would've thought of trying that restaurant for dessert, but it sounds like a great suggestion. I'll be sure to check it out. What were some of your other favorite spots for dessert? (I admit to having a tremendous sweet tooth!)

    Snacks for Less

In addition to the snack items people have already mentioned, my daughter and I usually bring along a very small container of peanut butter and a bag of apples. I suppose that might sound strange, but I get extraordinarily hungry for "real food" after a day of fast food (and we rarely eat at a...
