Agreed, crowds seem inconsistent, a low day followed by a busy day, but overall lower than expected.

I would do it. When on vacation everything is so expensive, there's not a lot you can buy for 30 bucks. An extra day (or half day) at Disneyland is a pretty great deal for that price, imo.

Easy answer for you: Ridemax. Two tips that override any and all others. 1) Be at the park early for rope drop, and 2) Use Ridemax. We discovered ridemax back in 2007 and wouldn't consider DL without it. It's scary accurate and the kids have fun playing with it a month before the trip. No need...

This happened to us last week. The app said RSR FP's were gone at about 11:10 A.M. but when we walked by at almost noon the sign said FP's were still available with return times of 8:45 to 9:45. The app is pretty great, but definitely NOT 100% accurate.

FYI - a strange thing happened when we rode RSR after 9 P.M. w/ fastpasses: For a while, the fastpass line is the slowest moving line. This was a very strange feeling, in fact, I actually thought I may be in the wrong line for a couple minutes - since both the Stand-By line and the Single Rider...

We just got back yesterday after a week at Disneyland and did not see a single mosquito the entire trip. I saw a few people spraying bug repellant but no bugs. We did notice a couple ants by a lightpost once, but other than that it was virtually bug free for us.

If Ridemax is telling you to ride RSR first thing just re-run your plan. That doesn't make sense and goes against what RideMax is about. I'm thinking you've ran several plans and RideMax is simply changing things up to try and please you. RideMax typically suggest that you ONLY ride...

We picked up RSR FP's this past Mon and Tues, each time after 11 A.M. so we could ride in the evening. FP's seem to run out between 11:30 and noon, although Tuesday they were still available after 12 noon. BTW, the single rider line is a pretty good option even if you have no FP's.

Thanks to all for the wonderful and helpful replies, especially TXTransplant's detailed response. I've never found TouringPlans.com to be very accurate at all regarding their Disney plans, so no suprise they are off at Universal as well. Thanks again! :thumbsup2
