    Collectable popcorn buckets?

Does USF have collectable popcorn buckets? I've Googled some funky minion popcorn buckets from Universal Japan. Are these available in the Florida parks?

Legoland - dining tips for peak holidays, inside and outside the park

Yes, but it is much easier to find quality gluten-free options in the hotel restaurants. At the breakfast buffets, chefs brought out made-to-order items for kids and adults with food allergies. Their food looked better than mine, and I was pretty happy with what I found at the regular buffet...

Legoland - dining tips for peak holidays, inside and outside the park

Just a follow-up, we stayed at Legoland December 24-26 in The Castle Hotel, which included the breakfast buffet. The breakfast and service was good, but Christmas crowds meant long waits to be seated if you didn't arrive within a few minutes of opening. (We waited 40 minutes and 20 minutes, very...

Legoland - dining tips for peak holidays, inside and outside the park

We're making Legoland our base for Christmas 2019. DD11 and I are staying three days and need to eat without going insane from crowds and mediocre food. We'll have a car, so we can leave the resort. We've previously visited Legoland California for only one quiet day (local schools were in...

Knott's Berry Farm - glasses and bags on big coasters

My daughter is tall and brave enough for some of Knott's more intense coasters. Can she use a glasses strap, or does Knott's ban all glasses on their big coasters? I usually wear contacts when I ride bigger-than-Disney roller coasters, but kiddo doesn't have the luxury of that choice. I...

Are the MCO duty free shops accessible for flights to Canada?

In some US airports, the duty free shops are in an "international" section of the airport, but most flights to Canada leave from the "domestic" parts of the airport. I can't remember what gates flights to Canada typically used at MCO. I'm flying MCO to YYZ on Delta Airlines, if it makes any...

Iger confirms DHS name change will happen

Does anyone else think of Hollywood as a place in California, not necessarily just the movie industry? Movies are made everywhere. Walt himself got started in the movie business in Kansas City. Maybe I'm just too much of a geography buff.

Iger confirms DHS name change will happen

Whatever the new name is, I hope it is short and rolls easily off the tongue so that it won't be forever refered to as an acronym, at least while speaking. (Acronyms live forever in blog posts and twitter, but guests actually say Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom instead of MK and AK. Not so with...

Does the Meridian Lounge serve food?

All the menus I've found only list beverages. Disney's own web site says that it serves "snacks" but I have no idea what they might be. It would be very wishful thinking that they could grab some appetizers from the Palo kitchen...

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

A very family friendly restaurant nearby is The Old Spaghetti Factory. The food quality is just ok, but the price and quantity is good. Other restaurants in the area are more adult-friendly bistro style selections. Your hotel concierge may be more helpful.

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

News today: Vancouver bars and restaurants can finally offer "happy hour" drink specials. But minimum drink prices limit discount potential. http://www.theprovince.com/touch/story.html?id=9959709

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

    A book of 10 faresaver tickets is $21. But there's a flaw in your math for the cash price of tickets purchased at waterfront station. From waterfront to airport on Sunday: $2.75 + $2.75 + $1.75 = $7.25 (not $10.75) From airport to waterfront on Labour Day: $2.75 + $5 + $2.75 + $5 + $1.75 +...

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

Thanks for the clarification. The last Translink info I read (a couple months ago) said "summer 2014", but I see that they have back-peddled on that implementation date. Since leaving Vancouver, there's a few things that I miss. Translink bureaucracy isn't one of them. :)

    Do DCL bartenders make Caesars?

This might be a Canadian thing, but a spicy Caesar is a perfect summer drink for me. Do they have the ingredients and knowledge to mix these in the bars on the ships? I am debating bringing pre-mixed Caesars from home, but I would enjoy it more if I could enjoy it outside my own stateroom /...

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

It was great that his worked for you. However, those "Faresaver" tickets books are being discontinued some time this summer. Depending on when Translink (public transit operator) transitions to the new fare card system, visitors may or may not be able to buy tickets at the 7-Eleven. The new...

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

For sheer convenience, don't discount the Skytrain. It is a bit expensive coming from the airport ($9 per person on weekdays), but is more reasonable from the port ($4 per person on weekdays). You can pay by credit card at the machines on the station platforms. Of course the convenience also...

    Some first time cruiser questions

For sea sickness, if you can handle the idea of an inside stateroom or a porthole (no veranda), the movement is least noticeable on lower decks near the middle of the ship (deck 2 or 3). This isn't below the water line. There are several decks of crew quarters below the lowest passenger deck.

    Credit card problems in Vancouver?

Tap-to-pay or PayPass (RF ID) and microchips (need to enter PIN) are very common on most MasterCard and Visa cards in Canada. If your Visa or Mastercard does not have these features, just swip your magnetic strip like you would at home. American Express is relatively common in Canada too, but...

Question about passport info and online check-in

Asking for passport information early just streamlines the port check-in. Whether you give it to DCL now or at the port should not make any difference, other than how long you spend at the check-in counter.

If you had to pick the luau or HDDR...

I think I'm a bad Disney nerd. Apparently I saw the Spirit of Aloha dinner show (or whatever name it had back in 2001), but I've been erroneously calling it 'Ohana for years. I guess I need to go back and re-educate myself. :)
