    Diabetic Food Choices

I just want to second what everyone is saying about having your meter nearby and testing more than normal. DS is in a wheelchair so it isn't even the walking that drops his sugars, his body views rides, especially ones that thrill him, as stress events/exercise and his sugars drop very quickly...

Bag Check! Ive had enough of it.

Not everything is available in the parks. I long for the days of the no bag line but I need meds , adult diapers for my son, two changes of clothing, he's six feet tall...lol...that alone takes up one side of his backpack. :-) I also need drinks and foods for his special diet, blankets or...

    Today, all parks were zoos

Went to Epcot yesterday at 4 and all approaching cars were stopped at the parking attendant for approx a minute or two. we were then told only 40 more cars were allowed in and they would hit capacity. we declined and headed over to MK. it was busy but manageable.

Tusker House breakfast - feedback please!

We loved it! We went two years ago and had a varied party, from kids to age forty five. Everyone enjoyed the food and I couldn't help but be impressed with the efficiency of the CMs. Enjoy!

Walking sandals for a long day at the parks???

I am a huge fan of the Teva sandals. They are also pricey but I have issues with my feet and wearing these sandals I am able to walk all day, pain free.

Selection of D&B Disney purses on sale 30% off and free shipping over $100

It's just my humble opinion but I love all my Dooneys. I think the craftsmanship is amazing. I have some that are over a decade or two old. They truly do hold up. I also have quite a few now of the Disney ones and they are just as well made. I lust after, no...covet the Sketch Weekender...

    Pop Room Request Question

Thank you! Yes, I think that sounds awesome. I can sleep through a bomb going off(although...come to think of it...I've never actually tested that) but my younger brother who is the birthday boy,is a lighter sleeper. He also loves any kind of lakeview when we vacation elsewhere.

    Pop Room Request Question

I agree! We have stayed here before, I just never noticed anything but DS and his chair...LOL. I tend to be a bit myopic when he's with us. This is my first trip without him in years! He just got back so we are going without kids this time, :D . I haven't been able to make a request in so...

    Pop Room Request Question

I've been before and we LOVED it. We've stayed at deluxe level, moderate level and value and I loved Pop. The pool bar was fun, the food was great and I thought the rooms were a good value. Have fun!

Thank you so much! I hope you get all you requested. :)

    Pop Room Request Question

Are some rooms better than others here? What do you usually request? We usually travel with my DS and the requests are short and sweet, roll in shower...lol. I have never had the freedom to make a request. Anything worth requesting at Pop? I'm thinking perhaps proximity to Classic Hall would...

    Ethnic restaurants

We really like the Tangierine Cafe in Morroco for a quick service that has some nice options. The humus is good, I like the olive salad, son loves the cous cous, brother and parents like the schwarma. It's enjoyable for an on the fly meal that isn't cheeseburgers or chicken fingers. :)

    Two observations..

With all due respect, there's no possible way you could know if there was or wasn't something wrong with the child. My son looks extraordinarily healthy to the untrained eye but he isn't. However, I agree, changing in public is disgusting. I've been changing DS's diapers for years now and...

    First Night On Property Help...

Have you checked out the menu for Tokoyo Dining? That has sushi and I know it used to have a view of Illuminations. Maybe someone can correct me if that's changed :)

    Disney Restaurants for Diabetics

The people on the disAbilities section of these boards were really helpful to me when our son was diagnosed three days before our 2009 trip :scared1:. They were awesome with advice. Please feel free to PM me if you have specific questions. I found carb counts impossible to come by but chefs...

Official DISNEY Cake Chatter Thread - Part II

Bumping this because I have pretty much the same question about any experiences with the Beach Club bakery. We are looking for a Toy Story cake similar to the ones I've seen in this thread. TIA for an info :goodvibes

    O'Hana dinner

I don't think it's too late given your son's age. If you were trying this with a three year old I'd think you were pushing it but no. I've taken late ADR's rather than not eat somewhere we want to eat. :) I hope you have a great dinner.:goodvibes
