    Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 Thoughts

The snotty guy who manages Lumieres. I wanted to punch him at Christmas Brunch. Do you mean Palo? He was very nice to us. DD9 having little to no interest in the Kids' Club. She's normally all over stuff like this. I lay the blame at Disney's feet, but could be off base. I agree with you...

tips for palo and the concierge?

We are wine drinkers and know most of the prices of the wine on the list so we can figure the mark up as well. I hate paying a huge markup so I tend to chose a wine I like with the least markup. I hate when servers, who are serving you, try to make you feel inferior. We never found this to...

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

No, it was a 4 day cruise for 4 on the Dream in a verandah room with gratuities paid as well. We would've take a 50% discount as a split but that wasn't an option. I'll post the letter my dh wrote to Disney while we were still onboard. They were very hardline about "following the rules". They...

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

Okay well that makes sense, I guess. I can't imagine the logistics with trying to make sure everyone gets all the right show dinners.

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

Thank you, I appreciate the sympathy. I'm so glad no one cried, I think we were really in shock! It didn't sink in until later, after dh talked to Brent( I think that's his name) the Asst. cruise director and he told us, sorry but that's how it works and too bad for us. :confused3 dh...

Anyone have pictures of the actual wave phone?

I tried to rent more on the Magic for the Christmas cruise but was told by guest services that they plan to have enough phones to offer that option in the future, but they did not have enough phones onboard to even cover all the rooms.

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

Sorry to keep you hanging on the first post so here it is. Eleven days was too long because I caught a cold as soon as I got onboard. I'm one of those people who is never sick so it caught me by surprise and hit me hard! I had to buy cold medicine and cough drops at Treasure Ketch! I also went...

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

I enjoyed reading your comments on the cruise above:) We stuck to the stage shows for entertainment because that's what we like and didn't see any of the "adult" entertainment. Glad to hear it was good though. Our dining rotation was LAPLAPAAPLA. That means Lumiere's only 3 times, Parrot Cay...

Best new addition on the cruise!

Disney's phones don't let you watch the other person. Are you saying they provide video too? That's cool if they do. I guess the $250 charge would be kind of scary. I'm thankful that my children kept track of the phones! I know my dd found a phone abandoned on a table on deck 9 and brought...

Best new addition on the cruise!

btw, all the phones are on vibrate, so they don't disturb during shows etc.. Can you imagine the noise if they rang? We did miss some calls because of the vibrate but not too many and service seemed to work everywhere on the ship. My kids loved them and we loved being able to find them...

Grocery stop on your way to port

Maybe you can ask the limo company. Some Publix stores have an attached liquor store. All grocery stores sell beer and wine.

The first Trial Run at Disebarkation (not good)

I was on this cruise as well and we ate a late breakfast and didn't have to wait too long to get off, maybe 20 minutes or so standing in the lobby but it was very crowded and seemingly unorganized. It has been much better on our past cruises. Our porter told us they have new stations for the...

Best new addition on the cruise!

Yes! for sure. Another family gave their 6 year old a phone and let him check himself out. Not something I would do, but he did turn 7 on the cruise and was very self assured. ps my 10 year old loved it! Kept track of all her friends on the cruise as well as being able to check in with us. It...

Best new addition on the cruise!

The best new addition to the cruise were the "wave phones"! LOVE THEM! It's like a cell phone you can use onboard. Each stateroom has 2 of them. I asked if we could rent a 3rd (one for each child and one for us to have) but although that is the plan for the future, they didn't have enough phones...

    2010 11 day Christmas Cruise

11 days of cruising is quite long! We did a 10 day Christmas cruise a few years ago and I don't recall feeling like it was too long. There are two main reasons that I feel like this cruise was too long and I'll get to them eventually. My DH, DS(14), DD(10) and I embarked on our journey from...
