I'm in Orlando at the moment with a Budget car booked through US rentacar. I got the upgrade no problems and have a brand new Pontiac. The whole thing including queuing at MCO took about 10 minutes ( about 16.30 on a Tuesday afternoon) so very much reccommended!!

If you are staying onsite at Universal you get preferential treatment for seating. Unless you are going at very busy times a day or two in advance is fine. The 2 Emeril restaurants are an exception where I would book as far ahead as possible.

Islands typically closes at around 6pm in Oct/Nov so Mythos would only be open at lunch.

The nights BEFORE the schools are off are the busy ones. My guess would be that MK will be heaving during the day but that MNSSHP will not be too busy. Even if it's a sellout it shouldn't be too bad as they limit the amount of tickets sold.

According to touringplans MK is always the park to avoid on Sundays in October while on 12th Epcot and AK are best parks ,on 19 and 26 it is just AK.
