    RV cooking question

I have to agree with teacup as to the need/advisability for a stone in the oven. Other than that, and the difficulty in lighting it (the pilot is not automatic and is located near the rear at the bottom of the oven...hard to reach while pushing and turning the main knob at the top front of the...

We have never camped at Disney... biggest things we need to know?

We were in 900 a couple years ago in the summer; a couple site back from the CS. We won't be there in Sept, but we are mostly a recurring Christmas/New years visitor. Maybe someday our paths will cross, after all, we met Ed last Spring on a rare Spring break trip.

We have never camped at Disney... biggest things we need to know?

Dicneyhabs, Ok, you HAVE stayed there. You were likely in Loop 900, give or take a 100. I'm not sure if they had premium sites then, but any of those in that area would be premium today, meaning more concrete, higher prices, and no coquina. The Fort is not for everybody, and I'm sorry you...

We have never camped at Disney... biggest things we need to know?

Disneyhabs, Sounds like you have not been to the Fort in a while, and maybe have not stayed there at all. The Fort is a wonderful place to kick back and relax or to enjoy the amenities. You have room to spread out, unlike a room in a hotel. You can chat with your neighbors if you choose or...

    Bouncebacks at Campsites?

In fifteen years of regular campsite Fort visits, we have never received a bounceback. And in fact, I haven't even heard the term in several years. Never got a reduced rate offer either. Grumble, grumble... but we'll be back soon.

    Pets?

Since no one else has answered this one, I'll take a guess. I believe there is a dog walk behind the 300 loop and one behind the 900 loop. And of course there is the dog park near the entrance to the 300 loop/ across from 500. Now, maybe someone who really knows, will chime in.

Red emphasis mine: The word "GIVE" refers only to allowing you to take one for a princely sum, not "GIVE" as in a gift. :rotfl2:

    Parking with pop up

I don't see why you couldn't park there. From the monorail approaching other sites, we see motorhomes parked in the regular lots, usually at the ends of the rows for easier access/egress. EDIT: Or you could park ion the Fort's Overflow Lot and take the bus to AK and back. Then your rig would...

Tell me about your own personal golf cart

We bought our 2003 EZGO around 2008. It was in good condition and has been an almost problem free means of campground and home yard transportation. Our has a flip rear seat/deck. It is not street legal, but it gets us around the campgrounds, and I occasionally take the kids around the...

    Boondocking at WDW?

Do you mean your friends resort parking lot , or do you mean the overflow lot at FW? I'd keep calling for a campsite reservation.

Who brings their own golf cart?

We had a trailer when we bought our GC. The GC would not fit, so we bought another trailer. Then DW bought a longer roof to cover the rear seat. Then the GC was too high to fit. We have to remove the roof every time. I guess we're due for another new trailer, before we buy a 6 seater...

    cabins advice

There are two Trading Posts at the Fort, neither of which is particualrly convenient to the cabins, but accessible via the internal busses or perhaps a long walk. I believe the two most prominently noted off property grocery sources are gardengrocers,.com and wegoshop.com, both of which receive...

An Open Pre-Trip Report: Who Will Be At The Fort The Last Week of March 2014?

Ed, Sorry we won't be there this year. Grandkids coming, so we may run to Gatlinburg for a couple days. Hope you have a great trip. We got our chair lift put on last weekend in Mobile, so we're set for wherever and whenever we go. And Folks, Ed will likely have that big obnoxious red flag...

Who brings their own golf cart?

We rented a GC from the Fort a couple of times and saw how much easier it made moving our kids around. We bought one and tow it behind our 37' MH in an enclosed trailer, along with a lot of stuff our special needs kids need on an ongoing basis.

Can "Will Call Tickets" be loaded onto your wristband?

Here is the post from AllEars. Note the update as of today. Still doesn't make sense to me. There may be some added money to Disney, but it sounds like a lot of additional paperwork for everybody. ________________________________________ Last week, after the All Ears Newsletter had been...
