Secret World of Arietty- who's buying it?

Your kids really need to be into Japanese anime to enjoy it. It's a good thing I took my year old to the Movie Grill when we went to see it because, within 20 minutes of the movie, she pretty much focused on picking at her food, pushing the service button and twirling her seat. The movie is...

Do you have to prove the age of an under 3?

Very doubtful. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sharing the Skillet at Whispering Canyon?

That's for all you can eat.

Sharing the Skillet at Whispering Canyon?

OP: Contrary to what others think/assume, you CAN share a skillet. It IS allowed but there are no refills. You pay the one price listed whether you eat it alone or share it, you just do not get any refills. So if two of you share it, you share one serving, which is plenty btw. My husband and...

My MIL is suddenly an expert on all things Disney.

My mil has been two times and, to this day, argues with me that POTC and Peter Pan were not there (last time was 1992). Ummm, pretty sure they were considering they are original to the park! Nope, I'm just being a know-it-all. There's no arguing. I just get "the look". How do you...

    Why is Ohana so popular???

We love Ohana too. I am a pretty adventurous foodie and I have always found the meats to be moist and flavorful, not to mention the sides are to die for. As everyone seems to be unanimous on, the dessert is absolutely addictive! Thank you for NO raisins in bread pudding for once!!! :worship...

Pet Peeves by the non-Disney obsessed?

The majority of my pet peeves center around my m-i-l. I love her to death but her ignorance sometimes drives me bonkers. She's been three timesherself so arguing with me that Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion weren't there when they went is ridiculous. When I try to...

    Packing for the car!

We do many of the same things as previous pp mentioned. A trick I learned recently from one of my fellow cub scout parents is to fill two jumbo ziplocs (or a size compatible with the bottom of your cooler) and lie flat in your freezer to make ice blocks. Once frozen solid - it takes a couple...

    Got me thinking

Another American here. While yes, there are very different cuisines depending on the region it is becoming less common with alot of people moving out of state for jobs and such. Mexican food used to be much more common in Texas (where I'm at) and California. Now it's popular everywhere. As...

What are TWO things you suggest that we MUST do with our 4 1/2 year old daughter?

This. :thumbsup2 We're planning the same thing.

OT- Am I crazy to be upset by this?

Oh, you're dead on. I did blame my dad for allowing it. I told him she was out of place. We had words. My sister and I still cringe when we look back at those early years. We've made somewhat peace about all that has happened since he met my step-mother. He went through a phase where he...

What are TWO things you suggest that we MUST do with our 4 1/2 year old daughter?

My 4 yo loves-loves-loves the water parks. They both have great kiddy sections with miniature water slides and tubes. Her favorite place to eat, other than Akershus Princess Breakfast, is the resort counter service. They LOVE, at that age, walking around with their own tray and picking what...

    Another snow day in Texas!!!

This. We plan on leaving town that Friday as always. I'm not going to change our vacation plans for them to sit and watch movies, have classroom lunches, two recesses and "Spirit Assemblies" all day. They do absolutely nothing on those make-up days.

    Another snow day in Texas!!!

I don't think I can take another day cooped up in the house with these stir crazy kids! I'm also nervous about our school's Valentine's parties Monday. I'm the coordinator for 3rd grade parties and, with all of the closures, have still not sent flyers home (my co-coordinater in charge of the...

OT- Am I crazy to be upset by this?

I can understand you being a little hurt but don't let it get to you too much. Hey, at least you're invited! No seriously.... My step-sister married a year after my husband and I and, although my dad and her mom were not actually married yet, she managed to rope my father into paying for...

OT- best clothing brands for "skinny" babies?

I've found the higher end, boutique brands to fit the smallest. Icky baby, JM Originals, etc. Gymboreee has always run big for my DD4 who consistently is 50-60% height but has yet to make it on the chart for weight.

    Restaurants with best desserts

Yep, the bread pudding at Ohana is to die for. It's the only one that I truly crave and I've had alot of them. Most were good but this one's fantastic and I, for one, am a bread pudding connosieur.

What and where is your favorite snack?

 I love sun chips and almonds and being reminded that I need to eat healthy and exercise, exercise, exercise while on vacation. Because that's what we all want to think about while on vacation, since we don't have to face it every other day of our lives. :rotfl2:

    Driving from NY...In Car Meals?

I am also planning to bring meals with us on the road. I'll make a sandwich I've made in the past: Italian loaf of bread, deli turkey then a spread of cream cheese, mayo, chopped green onion, shredded colby/jack with a touch of worcerstershire. I also bring along a pasta salad. I keep...
