    Teens ?!

The Stack/Aloft is pretty much casual. Except for, as the PP said, Homecoming night (only in The Stack on the Magic), and even then, most people change out of their semi-formal clothes back into shorts/jeans, etc. after the first hour. I've worn everything from shorts and t-shirts and tank tops...

    Between Age Groups... Questions. Opinions?

My next DCL cruise will be celebrating my high school graduation. I won't turn 18 for a few weeks after disembarking (inconvenient, as there is still no Palo/Spa available to me - and I am well aware that they're very tight on age restrictions there). I'll have been a high school graduate...

    Head Servers

Okay, I'm a little bit confused... In six DCL cruises, I've never in the past heard of a dining room manager, or rather that there was any differentiation between a head server and a dining room manager. From my understanding, as described in this thread, the dining room managers are above head...

    Favorite Cruise Staff

I envy you. It's my life's goal to do a back-to-back. Or... a back-to-back-to-back... or a back-to-back-to-back-to-back. Actually, what I'd really like to do is an entire contract on cruise staff after college, but I'll keep dreaming on that one. ;)

    Favorite Cruise Staff

Backtracking a little here, but my favorite cruise staffer of all time would have to be Travis. :cloud9: I cruised with him three times from '05-'07 and he was absolutely wonderful. Then he went and jumped ship (pun intended) for another cruise line. :sad2: Making all future DCL cruises a little...

    What type of Questions...

He's on the Wonder now? He's all I heard about for almost a year from friends and DISers who had cruised on the Magic . I guess he came on right after I got off for my '07 cruise, and I was looking forward to meeting (and seeing ;)) him over Thanksgiving. I found out while I was on board that he...

I Choose To Cruise With Dcl Because...

I cruise DCL because After 5 Disney cruises, the ship feels almost as homey as home does. There's no other vacation destination in the world where we're more comfortable. :cloud9: And because coming back to the ship after a day in port is always a blast. You get to go onto the pretty ship...

Any die-hard DCL cruisers ever cruise Alaska?

I'd like to consider ourselves pretty "die-hard". We've done five on DCL and one on the Diamond Princess to Alaska in 2006 (after 3 DCL's). We were thoroughly unimpressed. I guess we were spoiled by Disney. While it was a very nice cruise in the grand scheme of things (I'd probably rate it a 6...

    anything wrong on the Wonder?

If I'm not mistaken, the Wonder especially shouldn't be anywhere near Florida on a Wednesday. I hope everything is okay...

:rotfl2: Cruise staffers probably have the most fun job on the planet.

    2 Stops At Castaway Cay??

I've read some reports that the water is too cold in November on CC, and I found that this wasn't the case. We were on the Thanksgiving Double Dip in 2008, and found that at both of our stops at Castaway Cay, the water was perfect. The air is warm and wonderful (especially when coming from the...

    2010 bookings plummeting for DCL

Good. Maybe DCL will come to their senses. We were interested in a Baltic for the summer of 2010, and we wouldn't book - simply on principle - because the prices were so unreasonably high. What they're doing for 2010 is very nervey, considering the economic downturn we're in. It's absolutely...

    CC Construction - Oct 2009

I'd assume there would have to be, with the new (larger) ships on their way. They'd have to expand the beach area (it's crowded enough with the current number of passengers) and presumably dig out some more room at the dock. I just hope it won't interfere with anyone's stop at CC. If that's the...

Can a 12 year old be in the teen activities?

:rotfl2: :lmao: You're kidding, right? That's ridiculous. I give you credit for just politely walking out. I would have probably gone straight to the CD.

Can a 12 year old be in the teen activities?

Just offering a bit of input... I'm 16 years old, and spent a lot of time in The Stack during my last cruise in November. If I recall correctly, we had two twelve-year-olds that "snuck in" to the program. The counselors don't take any kind of attendance, and there's no registration for The...

    Cruise Staff on the Magic?

I guess I'm a little outdated now... which is odd, because my cruise doesn't feel like that long ago, but when I was onboard the Magic over Thanksgiving, the cruise staff consisted of: David, Natalie, Trevor, Ponz, Claire, Lisa (?), Oscar, and Tim was the pubmaster... and I'm probably...

What is the returning cruisers gift now (2009)?

They don't change the gift by number of cruises. DCL gives all CC members the same thing, and when they change it, they change it generally. We were on #6 over Thanksgiving, and got the bag and the waterbottles and such. I think this has been the gift since '06. Before that, we got beach towels...

    Double Dip with 2 Ships - 11/22-11/29

I was in AP on the first night as well, and I remember all of the dropping of the china! I especially remember the pasta spill. It happened right across the aisle from our table and we got a front row seat. All I could think about was how they were going to get that stain out of the carpet. :rotfl2:

How Many DCL cruises have you been on??

I feel like an underachiever. Number 6 on DCL ended a little over a week ago. We have number 7 booked for 2010, but we're hoping to get in another in 2009 too. We've also done one on Princess and we have another booked.

How long til things are no longer "spinny"?

I got off on the 29th. I was spinning until around Friday. :lmao: I think it's mostly subconscious. Once I stop spinning, I know the cruise is officially over, so I guess I try to drag it out as long as possible.
