Yeah, my daughter has a Tslim by tandem - it is a newer one - and they rec no Xrays. And they ship it in a box that they do not want opened - like that is reasonable in this day and age.
We aren't worried about her reg pump on her body - that is obvious and she can take it off for a minute...
Specific question regarding security at Port Canaveral. We are doing a couple cruises next month. My daughter is a Type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump. We know the pump cannot go thru the metal detectors - no problem, she disconnects and hands it around - they can inspect it.
But we are...
My daughter is 12, dx in the spring of last year. Last summer we did have her meter shut down due to heat on Castaway Cay - it was in a duffle, now we keep it in a soft lunch like cooler inside the duffle and it has been fine since.
We use the Hydro Mouth Wide Mouth Water Bottle, 18oz from...
Is it reasonable to expect perfection? While I have no idea, I have to think they did not realize it would be so rough, and in hindsight would likely have stayed out for a day. Things change quickly. Even Disney cannot predict everything perfectly. I bet if they had delayed returning there...
I think things are flexible (by Disney, not us) depending on the number of kids on board. The 2nd week of Sept is going to have significantly fewer teens than in July. So, It would not surprise me if they may permit waivers some times, but not others.

We have always left them in the camps while we go to the ports. Our family tradition is we all get off in the AM, look around the town, shops, etc. We get back on and have lunch and then they go to the camps while go back out for adult type beverages and a relaxing afternoon.
DCL wants to...
Last year I was on the Dream doing a back to back (4 day and then a 3 day on the same ship) right around Irene. The 4 day was fine, we were aware of Irene. Wednesday we left CC and we took extra staff on board from CC. That night we were walking back to get out kids around 1130pm and we saw...
We are watching too, we are on the Saturday Fantasy.
Of course the Captain will make sure we don't sail into the storm, that's not the issue. And the cruise will be nice no matter what.
But we like the ports of call and hope we can go to them all.
Last year we did a back to back on the...
I don't believe so, but you can bring your own on. That is one thing different about Disney Cruise Line. Bring it in your carry on luggage. Officially you can have any beer you bring on board in public areas, but as long as you don't bring it to dinner or a bar, no one should bother you.
Ken
Right, I think being reasonable is key. We never bring what we brought on board to dinner or a bar. But if sitting around somewhere, we put cans in a beer cozy and it is no big deal. We still buy enough too so they are getting some money from us!
More and more manufacturers are using cans...
These situations are very common not only on cruise ships, but also nursing homes and other locations where large numbers of people are in close contact. We had an outbreak a few months ago at colleges in NJ and my ER was very busy.
It is caused by a virus, usually noroviruses, but there are...
No booking, it is just like the kids camp on the ship, just on the island. What we have done is get off and lang all together in the AM and have lunch, and then the kids go to the camps for a couple hours. That allows DW and I to enjoy a beverage (or 2, or 3) at the Heads Up Bar. Beautiful...
We just did our first RC and it was very nice. Our kids are a little older so they had some freedom, so the camps were not as important. The camps are not open quite as much - close at lunch and at 10m, but you can pay extra if you want. Soda not included like on DCL of course and you cannot...
Hi, we bring a case of beer cans on board, in the carry on luggage. Glass can break so I rec cans. We still buy lots of stuff on the ship too, but occasionally if just sitting around the room on on a deck we will bring one with us. THe cost is typical - $5-6 each I think.

It was a great cruise. We were on the EB 2008. They added more shows, lots of activities. The Panama Canal crossing was incredible, my wife and I stayed up front starting in the afternoon when other people cleared out. It started to pour and DCL gave us (yes, for free) ponchos. Cabo was...
Whoopi Goldberg.
It was pretty cool, she was taking laps at EPCOT with a CM in tow, chatting with him. WHat was nice was no one was bothering her, she would walk by and we would turn and look, and then go on with our trip. We noticed mainly because the CM was carrying her bag. They made 2...
The Southwest schedule from Philly is much worse than previous years - only one non stop going down on 10/3 for example. AirTran has a large schedule.
I think we are seeing them prepare for the merger of schedules - we go down every October for FWF and this is very much out of the ordinary...
I lived in NJ for years. The issue is actually the NJEA Teacher's Convention (Nov 8-9, 2012)
http://www.njea.org/teaching-and-learning/pdo-convention
And the new situation where many schools close on Election Day, the Tuesday prior. So, there is only Monday and Wednesday for school, and...
