    Luck with SoG Wait List??

Worked for us. As I recall we had to make a choice as to being on the wait-list or taking overflow rates - which is not a problem you have so might as well get on. In fact, as it got closer to our dates I got to wondering if I had missed a message and called - I hadn't but shortly thereafter we...

I guess Shades of Green is full from 11 to 13 Nov

It might just have been my timing but.....when we were on the wait-list I called very shortly after the time they told me they might know something (not wanting to leave anything to chance). They didn't have anything when I called but lo and behold, a few days later we got in.......Greg

Just Back from SOG - Any Questions?

I agree, in no way, except perhaps room size physical dimensions, should it be compared with GF. On the other hand, depending on exactly what it is you value - it can represent an incredible value. We like the price, room size, location, transportation and relative calmness while prepared to...

Shades of Green Vs All Star Resorts

No contest....even if it costs more SOG is the better value......

    Shades of Green Transportation

Might as well get used to bus changes, unless you've got and use a car its unavoidable. We liked walking to Poly or even TTC in the a.m. and but at the end of a long day its just another hike to make (and then there's the walk to the room depending on where you are). For us, focusing on the...

    Shades of Green ?

We've stayed in both. I'd go with CR while you have the chance just for the experience, plus its very handy to MK if thats important to you. SOG quite satisfactory, different type of experience, not as busy, definitely a good value. Greg

The Contemporary Never Appealed to Me

And we only notice it on take off and when we were in bed cause of the motion on the bed it is actually caused by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Gee and to think people used to have to pay an extra quarter for that.......Greg

The Contemporary Never Appealed to Me

We stayed at Contemporary a number of years ago.....we didn't notice any shaking, we were in a garden wing which is where SOG goes I think. you can't beat the location especially for MK, transporation very convenient....its BIG tho, my recollections are of lots of people.....this is especially...

Hoping for a SoG cancellation -- how often do you call? Any timing/other tips?

Getting on the wait list is the first step. A date as close as November might be dicey. Trying to recall our trip of a couple years ago...I think we called about 10 months out and with no rooms got on the wait list...then about 2 months out found out we had a place....I would make a back-up...

    Is the Autotrain always LATE????

If 5 hours is unacceptable then I'm afraid AMTRAK isn't the way you want to go. You just have to figure on being late, the only question being how late. I think over the last few years they've taken to padding their schedules so expectations aren't raised too high. I think the latest we've ever...

Can anyone tell me about the Contemporary Resort?

We've stayed at both. Contemporary will be a lot "busier" but you can't beat the convenience on resort monorail loop, walk to/from MK, (especially at SOG prices). Greg

SOG must be an awesome Resort

We've stayed at both and as far as I'm concerned SOG has it over CR almost anyway you look at it. CR does have a transporation advantage, and perhaps more diversity in adequate to better food - but SOG has lots of advantages over CR not the least of which is cost which to me buys a LOT of...

Help! DH wants to stay at the Grosvenor, I want POR!

If you're driving I'd go with Grosvenor. The big advantage of Disney resorts is transporation and theming (used to be early entry) and theming just isn't worth the price differential to me. If you're flying and were to rent a car that added to Grosvenor would make it about break even money.

    Anyone drove from Dallas, TX?

At least last Spring it was a mess - construction, very bumpy in places (construction obviously badly needed), delays, etc etc. Seems as if most of the problems were in LA tho....Greg

    Who uses AAA Trip tixs?

It seems they have a priority for routing on interstates, then U.S. Highways etc. regardless of other factors. And, they'll do this even if there is a shorter route that may be 4 lane controlled access - even if its not controlled access (U.S. 287 Ft. Worth to Amarillo comes to mind) if I...

    A ? for Texas Dis'ers...

At the time we went (mid-March), lots of construction (which the roads need badly by the way) one-lane slow-downs etc. Also major backup in Baton Rouge going over the river, according to locals when we finally broke free and got off the road 1 hour plus later (thank goodness for local map in...

    A ? for Texas Dis'ers...

Driven twice, flown once. Its two 10 hour days for us but saves several hundred dollars out of pocket dollars for our family of 4. Not a bad drive, as others note Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola a good area to stop for the night. After arrival late afternoon, evening don't try to do anything except...
