I too vote for St. Thomas. We went on the Eastern back in May 2009 and decided to save the money from the taxi ride and just walk to it. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the ship. Our kids were 8, 5, and 3 when we went and they all loved it.

IN both St. Maarten and St. Thomas there are butterfly farms. In St. Maarten you have to take a cab to get there, but in St. Thomas you get off of the ship and walk for about 5-7 mins and you are at the butterfly farm. My kids enjoyed it (they were 8, 6 and 3 at the time).

We went to Vegas the last week of October 2007. I brought a sweater with me, but never put it on. The nights were perfect. Hot enought in the day to wear a tank top and lay around the pool, and cool enough at night to be comfortable.

Where in Atlantic Canada are you from? I am from NS and just took my first Disney cruise in May 2009. We flew in the day before and rented a car. We did not fell rushed at all. We stayed at the port at Ron Jon's Resort. If there is any thing else I can help you with, let me know.
