Star Wars Celebration attendees, what is your game plan?

I'm going to be there all four days, along with my husband and two boys. We don't have a set in stone itinerary, but there is one major panel each day we want to hit, anything else we're doing in a "we'll see how the day goes" kind of plan. Our boys are 3 and 4, so a lot will depend on how...

    Star Wars Celebration 2015

Believe it or not, the waiting in line is some of the fun. I was at Celebration V in Orlando, and met some wonderful people in our line ups, some I'm still friends with and am looking forward to seeing again at Celebration VII. You're not outside in the heat, you'll likely be able to sit while...

    Star Wars Celebration 2015

I'm heading down with my family and a group of friends for 10 days, arriving the 15th and leaving the 25th. We're doing the con all four days, then after a wind down day on Monday, heading to the parks Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm so excited I started packing yesterday, lol.

    Need some book/author rec's

The Pendergast books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are amazing; anything by Jeffrey Deaver; Dean Koontz's earlier books (his more recent books have gotten a bit repetitive); and anything by Greg Iles. All are what I would consider page turners, good mystery/suspense.

Ever run into someone you know?

On our first (and only so far) Disney cruise on the Magic in 2011, my husband and I were in line to have our pictures taken with the Mickey Statue. In front of us was a family, (mom, dad, two daughters) who turned out to be regular customers when my husband worked at a video store over a decade...

Book suggestions for a young girl.

My nieces love the Ivy & Bean books, there's about ten of them and they're really cute. They also enjoy Geronimo Stilton, they're a little more silly but also fun to read. My husband and I made a promise long ago that we'd always buy books for the kids on their birthdays. We've done ok so far!

    Kids left at library

Sadly this isn't limited to libraries. I used to work in the children's section of a large book store, and there were countless times that parents would leave their children at the store for hours at a time, to run errands, or even to go to the movies. We had signs saying that children were...

Doing a trial dog adoption and extended family very upset

I am extremely allergic to cats, and while I used to have one growing up, I can't have them anymore. Which I hate, because I absolutely LOVE cats. When I do go to people's homes who have a cat (and some dogs), I have to remember to take an allergy pill before I go, and I can't let myself...

Where are all the canucks from?

My husband's grandparents had a house on Manitoulin Island. I never got the chance to see it myself, but I've heard it's beautiful. As for me, add me to the list of Disers from Ottawa, only I'm on the eastern end of the city in Orleans.
