Staying at Universal - Getting to Discovery Cove?

Hi! So I am still working on a plan for either Thanksgiving 2013 or New Year's 2013/14... I feel like I read somewhere that there are free shuttles to Sea World from Universal -- but do they also run to Discovery Cove? And if so, do they run early enough to take advantage of a full day at...

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Good to know, RMulieri! :) I broke my foot walking through the Forbidden City in Beijing and then spent another week walking on it before I got a cast. Since then, I have been a big fan of boats, buses, and anything else that transports me from one adventure to the next. :)

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

I really have to be persuaded to try new things, but I'm going into this with an open mind and a planning spirit. :)

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Another question... Okay, so the Portofino Bay is the farthest hotel from IoA, which is where we plan to spend most of our time. Does the boat from the PBH go directly to IoA? If we didn't want to walk it, can we take a boat in a reasonable amount of time? What are the boat hours?

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Dang, y'all are persuasive! I'm going to go look up the Portofino Bay. I doubt we will go to US on this trip -- the coasters at IoA, Spiderman, and HP are what we're focused on, and it looks like a longer walk from Portofino than RPH. So that's a consideration... Is it more like as the...

anybody else just getting started, or restarting?

Hi! I am so happy to find WISH1 I have just started planning our 25th anniversary trip for New Year's 2013, so I have a whole year + to get healthier and build stamina. I would like to get to my WW goal weight, which is 157. Right now I'm probably just under 180. I work from home doing...

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Okay, rpbert1, I think you and others have convinced me to start at WDW and then go to UO! I've never been steered wrong by the DISboards hive mind! :) We lived in Orlando for seven years and I loooooove the FLA winters, so all our trips have been planned for wintertime.

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

That's a great idea! I'll be sure and do that. As soon as I have the school schedule in hand, I'll make reservations. If I can get the dates to work, we'll go to the Poly first, then RPH, though we don't do Disney with quite the degree of intensity that many folks seem to. I'm quite content...

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Thanks, Metro West -- sorry for posting in the wrong thread! I appreciate the responses -- it looks like RPH is the clear winner here! I see what you're saying, gschmerl, about the Express thing, but I want to be at the Poly for NYE to see the fireworks, which means going to UO first given...

Split stay - UO & WDW - advice and tips?

Hi! You DISers helped me plan an AMAZING 20th anniversary trip at New Year's 2008, so I was thrilled to find that there's a UO subforum! I am a true blue Polynesian-resort girl, but my daughter really wants to go to HP World at UO and my husband likes to try new things, so... reluctantly, I...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

Just back from the Poly! We ended up staying an extra day in Orlando due to weather issues back home, and since I'd already paid for that extra park-hopper day back when we booked, we got a "bonus" day at Magic Kingdom. The crowds were unbelievably low. We walked on Small World, Buzz Lightyear...

Princess Dresses and my Nine Year Old.

My 9-year-old is disappointed because she outgrew the Mulan costume she wore on our last trip (two years ago). I admit I didn't fork out the $50 to buy a new one in the larger size because it seemed like a waste when she would only (probably, realistically) wear it to go to the Akershus...

    A list of alcoholic drinks?

I'm distracting myself during this last long afternoon before we leave for Disney bright and early tomorrow morning (fingers and toes crossed, weather allowing). I keep hearing about Grey Goose slushies, but can't find them listed on the various drink sites linked here. Is that something I...

Our Milk, Egg, and Nut free Disney experience

OMGYAY! My daughter is lactose-intolerant, and usually, she just skips the ice cream options. I'm thrilled to know that she can get a dairy-free milkshake at WCC! Yay! Thanks for the report!
