    Move your motor home!!!!

You are right, I wouldn't tolerate living in that type of community, and I wouldn't sign the paper stating I would follow the rules so I wouldn't buy a home there. But thinking more about what you just said, your neighbors DID sign the paper stating they would adhere to the rules so I do think...

    Grocery cart etiquette . . .

I guess I would irritate you then, I always write checks. Don't have any desire to have a debit card, where stores can put a "hold" on more of your money than they need to. Plus I used to forget to write it in the register when I made withdrawals from the ATM, so I know I would forget with a...

Restrooms - wheelchair "accessible" or "reserved"

If I go into the restroom and have a choice of using a regular stall or a handicapped stall, I will always choose the regular and leave the handicapped for someone who truly needs it. But! If there is a long line and everyone is waiting their turn I see no reason to leave the handicapped...

    Grocery cart etiquette . . .

Thankfully not often, but it has happened. It's rude of them to do that, I think. But I do as you do and just start putting my groceries on the small part of the belt that I can, plus I push the cart ahead just a teensy tiny little bit each time so that maybe, just maybe they'll get the hint...

    Move your motor home!!!!

Amen!! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine living in an "upscale" neighborhood (of course, the definition of "upscale" is dependent upon one's meaning of the word) where someone gets all upset over things their neighbors have in their yards or in their driveways. So what if they left their...

    Nashville Star

I liked Ashlee, and Gabe  and Melissa too, Shawn was good too. Did not like Coffey, haven't liked him from the beginning. Glad Sophie and Laura are gone, and I loved how John Rich called 'em out on the eye rolling from last week!! They just are not mature enough, or good enough, to be...

    How many careers or jobs?

Senior year of high school on co-op work program I worked in the office of an elementary school. Then I worked for a few months in the reporting department of the local credit bureau. I didn't work outside the home after getting married, and becoming a mother. Did not go back to work until my...

Offical Big Brother 10 Thread--Spoilers Welcome

I really want to like Dan, because he's from Michigan and I'm in Michigan too, so I want to cheer for the "home town boy", but I don't like his attitude much. I read about the Hillary Clinton comment, and thought it was a bit over the top to leave the country if she were to be voted in as...

    Supper or Dinner?

We live in Michigan, and we're country folk ;) so we usually call it supper, unless it's a fancy schmancy affair then it's dinner.

    Utterly Disgusting Restaurant Situation.

Did you read the last line of my post where I said "yes, he should have done it in the bathroom with a tissue?" I did NOT say it was okay for him to be picking his nose in the kitchen. I don't get where you think I said it was okay, I really don't. :confused3 I very well understand that a...

Offical Big Brother 10 Thread--Spoilers Welcome

I was so glad they chose Jerry as HOH. He is so cute and sweet! Glad to see he won't be the first one to be voted out. I hope he hangs in for a long time. Everyone seems to respect him, and he seems to be a fun-loving guy so that helps too. Can't stand Remmy! I was hoping to like her...

    Utterly Disgusting Restaurant Situation.

How do you know he didn't wash his hands? Just because he was in the kitchen you think he didn't? I'm a waitress and our kitchen has a sink just for "handwashing." Our cooks wash their hands in the kitchen a lot, maybe the server did too. I'm not saying it wasn't gross to see a...

    guest popping in at dinnertime?

I would not, and do not, consider my grown adult children to be "guests" in our home. Our home is still their home too, always will be. If either of them shows up at mealtime, with their family in tow, we will offer what we have. I'll make up a plate of sandwiches, throw a couple pkgs. of...

What is your one treasured item that you have?

A video that our son and daughter made about about 20 years ago, with the help of their aunt and a friend. They took photographs of themselves as babies, toddlers, in school, etc. and set them to music and gave the video to us as a Christmas gift. It will always be precious to me. Something...

    What Comes First for you...?

I start out with the fries, but don't finish them before I start on the burger - then I alternate back and forth.

Offical Big Brother 10 Thread--Spoilers Welcome

I'm glad to hear they're having a couple "oldies" in the group this year, a 53 year old and one who is 75, wow! Not just 20-something's. I see there's one from Dearborn, Michigan. I hope he's not a jerk, so I can root for him. :cheer2: Can't wait for tomorrow night!!

Do you use airplane pillows and blankets?

No, I don't use them, but not because I'm fearful of germs. I just have never needed them. If I was cold I probably would ask for a blanket. If it was a long flight I might want a pillow. But we've never had more than 2-3 hour flights, and usually have jackets so don't get cold.

    My cat has a tumor

I know what you are going through, and it's so hard and painful. My cat (she was 10 years old) had an inoperable tumor in her spine. I let them put her to sleep (she no longer could control her bladder/bowels and her back legs) but it was so hard to let her go. I'm so sorry...

What is the single most FUN thing you have ever done in your life?

Surprising my DH with a 3-night trip to Las Vegas for his 50th birthday last September.

Are your parents/step parents still living?

I voted my Dad has passed on - 6 months ago. I know I will always miss the man he used to be, before Alzheimer's took over. Father's Day was kind of difficult, although I did take the day off from work at least. I know Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to be really hard too, especially for...
