    Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Sadly, for me, the nickel and dimeing at WDW has caused it to lose it's allure. When Eisner was CEO, he tried hard to maintain a balance between providing value, and a great experience to the guests, while still providing a good return to the investors. I remember when Alien Encounter was...

It's been a long dry stretch. ;). We haven't cruised since early October and since then, we've each had to go in for surgery, my cancer diagnosis was upgraded from stage 1 to stage 4, my Myasthenia Gravis has been flaring up and I moved into a new job within my company. Whew! WE need a vacation!

What is he looking to do? If he hasn't decided and has an interest in it, he should consider information security. There is a massive vacuum of talent out there right now. There are thousands of open positions in the Chicago market alone, and I've heard predictions upwards of 100,000 short of...

Carol and I are good. I made a quick lane change in my career about 4 years back and moved from the corporate side to the sales now. I'm now a presales architect that spends all my time in front of people doing what I used to do helping them put together solutions to keep their corporate data...

I hadn't had Chickie's until they moved to their new location near Wolfe and 22nd. Now I'll occasionally make a quick run over there for lunch, or if I'm on my way back to the office after a client meeting downtown and still haven't had lunch, I'll detour past and grab a beef. I agree they're...

Yeah, I didn't even get into the Italian Beef discussion. I was just having this exact conversation earlier in the week as we had several colleagues in town for an Intel Security EBC. Italian Beef is a fairly new (relatively speaking, 20-25 years) addition to Portillo's menu, but very quickly...

Actually, the originators of the Chicago hotdog were actually two Jewish guys (I believe they were brothers, possibly rabbis) who wanted to enjoy the frankfurter craze that was popular at the time. Problem was, frankfurters were not kosher due to the fact that they were made from scraps and...

DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

I actually had typed up a whole post about it, but this new board software is horrid to use on an iPhone. I click the post button and more often than not, it will take me to another page rather than posting. Today, it decided to delete most of my post and truncate it half way through the first...

Have you got MG? My office is across the street from McDonalds HQ (McDonalds Dr. dumps into my parking lot), so I'm only a couple miles form Elmhurst Hospital. Plus, I believe Eelmhurst has merged with Edward Hospital, which is where all my doctors and records are.

Thank You! :) Honestly, I don't feel sorry for myself. I feel thankful that I lived so long with no major problems. And, I'm thankful that my current problems can be managed with meds. That said, it's been recommended that I go toone of the teaching/research hospitals and consult with one of...

Sounds like you need a password vault. There are a number of free ones out there that can store your passwords in a secure, encrypted container for you. The downfall of passwords is that people create easy passwords so they can remember them, and then reuse that same password across multiple...

I don't recognize most people on FB since I always referred to everyone by their screen names. Figured if they wanted their real names on the boards, they would have used it as their screen name. ;). But I'm easy to find on FB since you all know my real name. Plus, I'm friends with Bunchie, so I...
