    Can a cruise be affordable?

Thanks so much for all the advice. I will look into separate bookings, but I have a question about Disney hotels. Since we are a family of 5, which hotels allow 5 in a room? I've already looked into Music/Movies and Carribbean and both have a max of 4 in a room. I don't think 2 rooms at a...

    Can a cruise be affordable?

Hi everybody. So now that I've got the DCL bug, I want to figure out if we really can swing it. I wrote to Dreams Unlimited and they wrote back, but I would really like to get some feedback from people booked for this July/August. so I have something to compare with. We're thinking of...

    Magic or Wonder?

Thank you all so much for the information! Leslie, thanks for taking the time to look up everything for us. I will investigate the web site. We've cruised before, and found that the amount of time we spend in our room is so small, that we don't care. Especially since we're w/ kids, we'll save...

    Magic or Wonder?

My family of 5 (2A, 3C) are thinking about a Disney cruise next July or August. I've read about both ships, but am interested in finding out which would be better? I remember reading more positive things about one of the ships before my last trip to WDW, but can't remember which one! My...

Just Back from our 1st Disney trip!

Yes we did purchase park hoppers. We bought the 4 day hoppers and really got our money's worth. Even after searching many websites, you really can't find much of a discount on them...maybe $5 or so per ticket. The tickets for adults were $200 a piece, so saving $5 didn't seem like much of a...

how much cash to bring for a week?

We just got back and we spent about $175 a day (including meals) for a family of 5. We usually ate a large breakfast, snacked in the afternoon, and ate in the park at night. Sometimes character dinners, sometimes not. We bought souvenirs off site, much less expensive and the kids appreciated...

    Walkie/talkies (2way radios)

We just got back and we used them as well. There was often someone else on the same channel, so we had to make sure we were talking to who we thought. The connection is not always the most clear but it does the trick.

Just Back from our 1st Disney trip!

Hi Everyone! We just got back last night from our first trip to WDW. What a great time we had, thanks in large part to the wonderful tips I got off of this web site. I had my little note cards and people made fun of me before time, but I knew just what to do and where to go. I thought I'd return...

    Transportation in WDW

I have a question about the transportation while on Disney property. Our off site hotel offers free shuttles and lets us off wherever we want. But, once we are off, let's say at Magic Kingdom, and we want to get to Downtown, or Epcot or wherever, are there monorails or shuttles we can use? How...

    kids eat free?

Do kids eat free at IHOP for just breakfast (which was what HJ's had in the brochure I have) or have you been there and are all meals included? That would be great.....going in March and need to save all the $$$ I can. Thanks!

    Character dining suggestions/reservations

Thanks for the info. what about the shows that the different parks have to offer. are there any that are part of your original admission ticket or are they all a separate price? I don't mean the dinner ones, but just some different shows that the kids would enjoy. Do they require reservations...

    Character dining suggestions/reservations

I am planning on taking advantage of 3 of the character meals. Although I haven't made reservations yet, I am thinking about the Restaurantasaurus for breakfast one day and Liberty Tree and Chef Mickeys for dinners two of the nights. A few questions.... I heard making reservations at Liberty...

Disney virgin needs help with everything!

Well, after reading some suggestions, I decided to try Priceline and renting a car. I ended up getting a car for $15 a day, unlimited mileage! I am so psyched! The airport shuttles alone would have cost that much. Now I can hit that Belz Mall everyone is talking about for discount Disney stuff...

    Help with shows and reservations

It was recommended strongly that I reserve early seats for character breakfasts, shows, etc. How do I reserve them? I'm going in 2 mos, is it time now to book them? How do I find out which shows are available and which parks and when? Also, I heard to avoid parks that are early entry ones. If...

Help me get my kids to WDW cheap!!

I'm in much the same boat as you. My three kids (5,7,11) have been after me for YEARS and after stepping into airline tickets, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go. Since my husband and my vacation is 3/19, I only have a little over two months to save and plan and the wonderful people on...

Disney virgin needs help with everything!

Thanks so much for all the great ideas. I'm keeping an electronic folder on my 'puter and cutting and pasting tips all over the place. Two add'l questions....does each park have a parade (or two?) everyday? Is there a schedule of them somewhere? And also, has anyone ever done any of the fishing...
