    Countdown Calendars??

I thought I saw an example somewhere on the disboards--I can't find it now, though. I think the idea was using a larger poster board, each paint chip was one day (so you can number the colored Mickeys)--like an advent calendar. When a day is counted down, one can look under that card's number...

    Suggestions???

I don't know if you already have the bags, but there is a pattern for a no-sew bag on marthastewart.com (I haven't made it yet, so I can't verify its strength): http://www.marthastewart.com/article/no-sew-tote-bags?backto=true (the instructions call for some sort of iron on vinyl, but I think...

    Tie die and kids?

You can make Mickey shaped tie-dyed clothing with rubber bands instead of basting a Mickey shape on the fabric. It comes out looking like three sunburts (the ears are smaller than the face), rather than a solid shape like the basting method.

    luggage tags?

I also recently saw a project idea on Michaels.com using shrinky dink sheets that can be used in a printer to print off photos (http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=25048). When you bake them down, they become much tougher. The one thing I've had problems with shrinky dinks...

    Concierge/Club Level Information (Sept 2008)

I asked this on an AKL/AKV thread, but haven't had any takers yet, so I thought I'd try it here. Could someone comment on the king-sized beds in the AKV club level rooms? Are they hard, soft, etc? Thanks!

    luggage tags?

I've made luggage tags on Shutterfly using pictures from previous trips. The back side is blank white (no lines), so I just wrote my name and address in with a sharpie.

The All-New "unofficial" AKL/AKV's Jambo & Kidani FAQ thread.....

I got a club level 1BR villa for next May! :woohoo: For those who have experienced one of these rooms, could you tell me what the king-sized bed in the bedroom is like? I'm afraid it might be too hard. Thanks!

That would be good to know. . .

    Concierge/Club Level Information (Sept 2008)

If you call Disney directly for the ressie, you should be able to change the room only to a package at a later date (or add any discounts if they become available). If you're really concerned about making sure you have the room, I would book room only now. Be aware they will quote a price from...

    Concierge/Club Level Information (Sept 2008)

I apologize up front as I'm sure this question has already been answered in the preceeding 179 pages, but here goes: I just booked a 1BR AKV club level  :yay:  (I'm trying to reign in my excitement especially since the vacation isn't until next May!) and didn't know if I need...

    DVC Presidents Week?

I've not stayed in a DVC resort during that time, but I know a few years ago when I went the weekend before President's Day, it was also Daytona week (of the Daytona 500 fame). I stayed off property and it was very difficult to find a room on short notice (about 1-2 weeks before). MK was fairly...

    Wilderness Lodge Transportation?

We didn't know the other parks were closing and everyone was heading to MK. Our experience of riding the boats between both GF and MK and WL and MK had us believe we had allowed more than enough time.

    Toilet Paper/Bath Tissue

I think toilet paper quality is very important. When we stayed at the GF, I was surprised the TP wasn't nicer. Sure, it had the GF insignia stamped on it when we arrived, but it was still the standard thin and scratchy hotel TP. A couple of mornings after arrival we breakfasted at Chef...

    Wilderness Lodge Transportation?

I really enjoyed the WL (well, VWL to be exact). The only transportation problem we encountered was the night trying to get to the GF for 1900 Park Fare. We allowed ourselves 35 minutes to take the boat to the MK then change to the boat to the GF. It took 50 minutes. I think that night was EMH...

Which resort for a 2 bedroom villa would you choose?

I recently stayed at both BCV and VWL in a dedicated 2BR. I liked VWL much better--the resort was smaller, I liked the setting, and preferred the layout of the building. Plus, you can catch a bus, boat, or walk, to Ft. Wilderness, as well as take a bus or boat to MK. At BCV we were in the villa...

    resort monorail route?

If I were you, I would just walk to the TTC from the Poly. We were staying in Tuvalu, which is (if not the farthest) one of the farthest longhouses from the TTC. Even so, it was much shorter to walk than to take the Resort monorail ALL the way around, stopping at the GF, MK, and CR to load and...
