Daily Fix Re: Hall of Presidents - No Politics Please

Nobody has asked this question yet: what will they have 45 say, and will it be his true-to-life way of speaking, or will it be scripted?

360 BWV points for rent $14 per point

I need 39 points for a 2BR pool/garden view for Wed Nov 1 2017 to add a night to my existing reservation. I've rented to and from before and I'm familiar with the process. Hope to hear from you soon!

Why is paying for transferred points forbidden?

Just checking through the rules and regs of DVC contracts, and saw that compensation for transferring points is expressly forbidden. Why is that? You can rent points for money within limits.

CLOSED Points for Transfer: 150 BWV April 2017, $12.90 ppt

I'm very interested. Send email to jmrstock at msn dot com. I'm a BWV owner but need more points for family members in October 2017. Also sent you a PM.

Dream big, live Grand. VGF homeowners' thread.

What are my chances of getting a 2 BR and a studio at VGF in October 2017? I'm a BWV owner, so I would either have to find a VGF owner willing to rent or transfer points to me for the 11 month booking advantage, or book at BWV and waitlist. Neither option seems promising! My daughter wants to be...

The good news and the bad news about recent DVC changes (IMO)

Points are points, no matter who owns them, they are fixed. So I don't see how resale could cost them more in perks vs. the original owner keeping the contract.

    Can DVC do this..?

We used that for the week after Christmas in 2001. 4 months after 9/11, and they ended up begging for guests. I remember that New Year's Eve tickets for Downtown Disney were 50% off.

    People need to stop complaining!

Aha! I'm glad somebody dragged out the legalese. I confess I have no idea where our original 2000 contract is, but I recall something about this from our sales agent. People often don't read this stuff, or understand it. If you don't, it's well worth running it past a lawyer, or read it yourself...

DVC reverses decision on who gets grandfathered in for benefits

Hmmm...the admins changed the title of my post, and I'm not sure it's entirely accurate. I have no reason to believe that this was a REVERSAL instead of a clarification. I still hold that the brokers made the initial interpretations without enough information, the poop hit the fan, the brokers...

New Member but card says 2008

Sorry, my mistake. The online "card" expires May 6, 2016. My real card expires December 31, 2021. We aren't going again until January, so I never even noticed the expiration date until I saw this thread and went to find my card.

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

They never gave Mickey the correct number of fingers!

New Member but card says 2008

Yes. Mine expires this May. I'm the original owner since 2000. I wonder what the next card will look like.

DVC reverses decision on who gets grandfathered in for benefits

From Nick Cotton at DVC Resale Market: IMPORTANT UPDATE: In a letter from Disney e-mailed late this afternoon: This note is to inform you that anyone with a contract that was received by Disney Vacation Club by the end of the day on April 3, will be grandfathered in to have the same access to...

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

Yes, but...DVD isn't the seller (in a resale situation)! The seller is the owner of the contract, and the buyer is, well, the buyer. How could DVD possible get a cut on the resale market? I could see it if they take it by ROFR, but not otherwise.

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

Still curious to know about the referrals and commissions alleged between DVD and these brokers. Can't imagine that's legal.

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

I would be (and have been*) disappointed were I in your shoes. What I don't necessarily agree with is the anger at DVD, or the desire to protest or back out. Those feelings, while legitimate to feel, make me think that either a broker led you down a primrose path, (in which case your anger...

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

Does DVC get a commission from them? Or do they only provide a referral from a list? There's a big difference!

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

Are those brokers, or financing companies?

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

Huh-what? To the best of my knowledge, owners go to brokers, tell them to sell their contracts for a certain price, brokers find customers who agree to the terms, and then the offer goes to DVC for ROFR. That's the only involvement DVC has, approving the price. If yes, the sale goes through. If...

Who'll stand with me...outside the DVC 'member' lounge?

DVC has no connection to or relationship with the brokers. Why would they be passing them information? It's hard for me to believe that DVC would allow their reps to tell the wrong thing to any broker agents who called, unless they sprung this on their own people with poor training too. Perks...
