We were there two years ago for nye and the MK closed their gates at noon due to capacity crowds. I can't say how it will be this year but I doubt the economy and locals will make it much different.

I agree with this...the word is out that Sept - Oct are slow times of the year. Same with the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. More and more people are taking advantage of it to avoid the crowds, which then creates more crowds. It was certainly our motive to go in Sept this year...

Did our honeymoon at POR in 2002 and stayed at one of the mansions (Archadia House) and another time at the Magnolia House. You will love it no matter where you stay. Enjoy!

Would like any info about the BC resort. We had always stayed at POR, did our honeymoon at POR but on our last visit, found the service going downhill. Decided to try YC since my DW is from New England but no rooms available but got a standard room at BC. We'll be there Sept 19 for 10 days.
