Portaits of Family - Hours and Cost?

Yes, if you don't buy the CD you can just get individual photos. I believe the 8x10 was around $20. The cruise is the only time we get a family photo.

I finally did the art of the theme tour in November (cruise #4) and I loved it!

Disney vs private transportation to MCO after cruise

We have used private transportation both to and from port. Our favorite is spaceport transport, they use a mini van instead of town car so there is more room. The cost was $92 (cash) each way plus tip when we last used them in November 2014. Any time we used a service they were right outside...

Sept, Oct, Nov, or Dec? When would you cruise?

We have cruised in September, mid- November, late-November and early December. The best weather was September and mid-November. This year they started decorating the ship earlier for Christmas, so our cruise that left on November 8 was the first Very Merrytime Cruise. The weather in late...

    DCL Shampoo, Conditioner and Lotions

If your host isn't replacing them, just leave them a note and they will. We go through a lot (my DD has long/thick hair) and I like to have a few to bring home. We had more than enough extras after our last cruise. I also like to use them when I need to remember the cruise...or when I travel...

First cruise... port excursions a must?

You do not have to do any excursions to enjoy your cruise. There are many people that don't do any! As for what is available through Disney, if you go to their website there is a section for Ships & Activities and then Port Adventures. You can choose the ports and see what Disney offers...

    Disney Cruise - November?

We cruised early/mid November 2014 (8 - 14) for a Western itinerary and had amazing weather and calm seas. The weather was low to mid 80s every day, CC day was perfect, warm, but not too hot. This was actually the first Merry Christmastime cruise for last year (a little too early for me). We...

    Photo book on cruise?

A friend of mine got the book on her cruise last year. It was very nice, but to me, it wasn't worth the $150. I always make my own book through Shutterfly, and usually have a coupon so I spend about $35 for a much longer book (my latest book was 60 pages for $35), plus we don't do a lot of...

    Western or Eastern Caribbean?

We have done 2 Westerns and one Eastern - all based on what was available the week we wanted to sail. First Western (Magic) was the last week of November (Key West, Cozumel and Grand Cayman). The weather wasn't great, torrential rain in Cozumel and cloudy/cool at CC, but our day in Key West...

    Crand Cayman

The port has a very nice shopping area with lots of restaurants as well. You can also take a cab to 7 mile beach for the day.

Length of dinner in the rotational dining rooms

We have always done late dining and it was usually about 2 hours (or a little more). In November, we were out of there by 9:15 - 9:30 every night and it was great! we had a 4 top for just our family, but never felt rushed, it was just a nicely paced meal. Our servers were fantastic and we had...

Walking ship tour vs Art of Theme Show

I did the Art of the Theme tour in November and loved it. I haven't done the walking tour, but friends of mine did and said it really just shows you around the ship, where things are, etc. The Art of the Theme seems more suited to what you would want, this was our 4th cruise (2nd on...

    3 day cruises have changed

Some schools in the northeast have the whole week off starting with President's Day, and then our "spring break" is in April and not March.

    New Cruisers.....how to dress??

On our last cruise in. November, we decided to not dress up at all. DD and I wore capris, DS wore shorts and DH wore khakis. We didn't feel out of place at all, there were people in formal wear and those even more casual than us. We had a great time, didn't matter what we were wearing.

    Tipping on excursions

We did this in November and it was great. We booked through DCL. There were a lot of ships in the different ports the day we were there, so it was better that we were on an excursion and not on our own. We had to wait a while to get on the chair lift to get up to the top, but it was fine...

Car Rental Port Canaveral to MCO

We used Dollar in November and it was easy. We got off the ship around 8:15 and the shuttle came about 5 minutes after we got outside. We were the only ones on the shuttle, the ride to the car was less than 5 minutes, got our car and were on our way.

    Late dining?

We were out by 9:15 on our cruise in November, it was just the 4 of us at our table.

    Cutback on Castaway Club gifts?

We are silver and we got the non-grommet bag on the Fantasy 11/8-15. I would have loved the umbrella.
