OT - Any Niagara Falls family restaurant recommendations?

I agree with the Boston Pizza on Clifton Hill, it's not overly priced and there's tons of stuff to do inside. If you use the parking lot on that side of the Hill, tell you're going there for dinner and parking is free. Saves $10. Our family of 4 here in Niagara goes there a couple times of...

Crossing the border by car, but trip a surprise

It's $50 an adult and good for 5 years. Kids under 16 are free. It's a great thing to have if you cross the border several times a year. I use mine everyday. But even in the Nexus lane, they will ask you where you are going. My advice for crossing before heading to Disney. Don't mess...

Where are the cheap flights everyone keeps mentioning??

For March Break, check out flying from Pittsburgh. Typically the airports closer to Canada will have higher prices for Canadian holidays.

Any Cdn Dis'ers going to interviews next month?

Spend the money and go to the interview fully rested and alert. Think of it as a $150 investment for a year. Good luck!

    Duty Free & Carry-on Baggage

It really depends on what specials are running. Right now, there's a deal in Fort Erie for 4 bottles of Crown Royal at $75 cdn, 4 bottles of Absolut at $63 and 3 cs of beer (Canadian beer vs US beer) for $56 cdn. Leaving it in the trunk for the return is a good habit, but make sure it's not...

    Duty Free & Carry-on Baggage

When you check out at the Peace Bridge Duty Free in Fort Erie, ask the cashier to wrap the bottle in a bubble wrap bag. They have them just for this reason. Also, one tip. You can buy there what you want to bring back into Canada as well after your trip. ie. Buy 3 bottles of liquor for a...

How far from Niagara/border is the airport?

Cross at Peace Bridge (stop at the duty free there if you like) and then after US Customs take the 190 south for 8mins or so, then the 90 East for another 10 or so until you reach the airport. One tip, southwest has curb side check in. I drop the wife and kids off after checking the bags...

vacationing in Canada....is the tax thing that much?

Shop around on the internet for a good hotel rate. The tourist season here is slower than usual. There are deals to be had, and call and negotiate if you feel comfortable with that. And yes, avoid eating near the immediate tourist area. Unless you get a free coupon book which helps...

    BUF duty free????

You can do both. Buy what you are going to consume while away, and buy what you are bringing back fto Canada for your dutyfree exemption. That's why the "sales" at the Peace Bridge Duty Free often involve purchases of 2-4 bottles at one time. Right now, they have 4 bottles of Crown Royal for...

    BUF duty free????

There is no place beyond security, since Buffalo has no direct international flights. There is no need for dutyfree store. I still recommend buying in Fort Erie and leaving the spirits in your car. (as long as it's not Bailey's or similar)
