Help Needed: DisneyGiftCard.com and Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card

Thanks. That was a very helpful and detailed response.

Help Needed: DisneyGiftCard.com and Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card

Really? They seem to function in exactly the same way. As far as I can tell, the only differences are that one is purchased with cash and the other redeemed from points, and apparently that one can be used on DisneyGiftCard.com and the other cannot. It's like a business that takes Discover and...

Help Needed: DisneyGiftCard.com and Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card

Ah yes, I thought it was weird when I cashed out to a Rewards Card for this trip and the Chase site asked me if I still had my previous card. Nothing on the site or in the included documentation warns users that they should keep the cards after they're fully spent, though. Good to know; thanks!

Help Needed: DisneyGiftCard.com and Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card

Thanks. It seems like a fairly semantic distinction, given the Rewards Card can be used identically to a gift card with the exception of this one service. But I suppose it's probably that Chase administers the Rewards Cards and Disney administers the retail gift cards separately. It would be...

Help Needed: DisneyGiftCard.com and Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card

Howdy folks, I'm a long time member but haven't been active in years. Happy to see my account is still active! I'm back because I need some advice. My apologies if these questions have been answered in previous threads; I couldn't find the information myself. So I've seen recommended, by some...

Odd question about the new Little Mermaid attraction

Looks better with the real hair. The first image looks like his beard was assembled by Mousekeeping, or maybe a taffy artist with Goofy's Candy Co. Impressive in either case, but weird.

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

Sorry, didn't mean to misquote you. Of course I don't think that Disney bought Marvel just for the theme park rights. I'm not under the impression that Disney management are anything less than extremely clever, so I'm sure they realized what they were buying. But I also think that it's...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

Happy to talk comics with you. I hadn't read the linked article yet on my last post. I got some validation on my own perspective from it, too, though, in this bit: "Initially, it had been clear that Batman wore a black cowl and cloak, with the color blue used to emphasize folds in the...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I think Batman's cape and cowl appear blue in contrast to the rest of the costume because they are shinier. Likewise for Wolverine's outside-underwear and shoulder guards. I will concede that Wolvie's gloves and boots do appear to be genuinely blue...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

My thing with that is that I believe the "blue" areas on the comic book art are really supposed to be black, but they used the blue for accent, to show more of the three-dimensional shape. Like this:

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I too would love to see a Marvel stunt show, whether Universal or Disney were doing it. The moderator Metro West noted earlier that Disney isn't interested in using these characters for their parks, that it wasn't a benefit they planned for in the Marvel acquisition. If that's true, it seems...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I'm pretty sure their inspiration for that costume was the animated series, though. It's the only instance in any medium where I've seen him look that exact same sort of ridiculous. It seemed that the animators didn't realize that the blue they were seeing in the comics was supposed to be like...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

Oh, it's definitely excellent. Classic animated series era Wolvie costume, but, like, foamtastic!

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

Good point. I was actually wondering at one point, before this got way off track (heavily my fault, I know), are there actually any Marvel characters at Disneyland? I know we've established that Disney has the right to use them there, but have they started doing so yet? If so, does anyone...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I have ridden Spiderman. I know that it's on a track, but frankly, that doesn't impress me. I have NOT ridden it since it was renovated recently, though. So maybe it's better now. I guess I just prefer my motion sims to not pretend to be anything more. It's just my opinion, and honestly...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I guess I just don't get the appeal of IOA's Spiderman ride. It seems to me that it's just a glorified motion sim. I'd pick Star Tours or Soarin' over it any day. And I'll grant you that Harry Potter is the closest to Disney-quality you can get outside of a Disney park, but still I think it...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

Hmm. That second part is interesting. I wonder who gets to judge that. Does the language allow that Marvel itself may judge the quality of Marvel Super Hero Island? Because that would basically boil down to Disney having the capacity to officially judge the quality of a Universal park...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I think most people posting here (myself included) believe that Disney would put the characters to better use than Universal has, or will. I mean, how do they NOT have some sort of action stunt spectacular with those characters?

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I didn't know about the "East of the Mississippi" bit. I guess that means Disneyland can use Spiderman, Fantastic Four, and the Hulk, huh? I wonder if that rule then also means they CAN'T use those characters in Paris, Tokyo, or Hong Kong, or if maybe the contract stipulates that it is only...

    Any Marvel characters in Disney?

I have to disagree with the assessment of IOA being mostly for "big kids." Sure, there are some coasters that fit that category, but I think there's probably more stuff there suited to families or smaller children than anything else. Everything at Seuss Landing is perfect for small kids...
