Tipping at table service meals at DLP

In addition to what's already been said above, it's worth noting that quite a few restaurants in France already include tips in the bill. If they're included, you will usually find something such as "service compris" (service included) written on the bill

    Disneyland Paris in the rain

Luckily, Paris was built with rain in mind... If you have a look around youtube, you'll find a handful of videos showing the so called "covered walkway" that gets you from Main Street round to (I think) at least Adventureland in way that's almost entirely covered from the rain. There's a few...

    Parade Music from 2004

Dancin' (A Catchy Rhythm) has also managed to find its way onto spotify in a couple of albums for anybody who uses it in either its free or paid versions. They seem to have a "best of disneyland resort paris" album with a handful of the parade songs on, as well as a few other songs from around...

    Redirect to App store

We've started to notice this behaviour over the past few days as well, only it's happening from Safari (on iPhone) rather than through the DISBoards app (which I appreciate isn't working any more). The redirect seems to normally be to the app store, but we've also had one which just...

Photo of the Week - Week 10: Water

I've been really enjoying some of the images on these threads over the past few weeks, so thought I'd post one of my own now that I've finally caught up with some long overdue "tidying" of my photo library! The Water theme couldn't have come at a better time for me - this image was only taken...

    Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Portraits

Looking at the description against the two items, it seems that they are genuine items used by Disney, but not specifically used day in day out on the attraction. It claims that these were tests to see if they would last longer than the type of picture currently used. Still interesting...

    Corrective Eyewear and Photography

At the moment I have a pair of reaction lens glasses, which means that (having a sony A99 with EVF) it's very hard for me to shoot while wearing my glasses as the image I see ends up being much darker than it should be. I tend to get round the problem by lifting my glasses so I'm not using...

    Disney Magic Cruise, May 2009

Looking at the EXIF data on flickr, it seems that they were taken with a Sony A200. Keeping in mind that this thread is roughly 4 years old now, the equivalent sony current sony model would probably be the Sony A58.

Would you trust a factory refurbished camera?

Just thought I'd update from my post last night - took the camera out for a better play today and found that the lens is faulty... Here in the UK we're entitled to claim a repair/exchange/refund as it was not sold as described (refurbed or not a camera should still be working when you get it)...

Summer photo fun: scavenger hunt, or what?

I love the idea of an "easy to remember" list such as the idea of posting something for each letter of the alphabet... I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt last year, but I often found I didn't have the list to hand or in my mind so probably missed loads of photos. If the goal was just...

Would you trust a factory refurbished camera?

I've just bought myself a refurbished sony nex 6 with 16-50 and 55-210 lenses from the sony outlet website here in the UK. It arrived today and it's everything I would want from a refurbished camera - no significant marks, etc, everything was included in the box and most importantly, it cost...

Tower of Terror with a neck injury??

The official advise for tower of terror is: "For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride. Please note that most...

    Adobe announcement

Unfortunately for adobe, this announcement will lose them money from me. I recently upgraded to CS6 because I found it to perform much better (quicker) for some of the healing and panoramics that I was trying to do in Elements 9 which I had previously. The intention was to essentially stick...

Need help with another lens choice!

Of the original 2 lenses you mentioned, I'd go for the tamron. The Minolta is an UWA for full frame cameras, where as the tamron is an "all purpose" lens specifically for crop sensor cameras. That's why you get the larger range and constant aperture all in a smaller lens, so unless you have a...

    Decisions, Decisions.

First the short answer - yes I'd take it. Now the longer answer: I tend to take two cameras away on holiday with me - my main DSLR and a much smaller point and shoot (Canon S90) that still provides me with a good level of control such as the usual PASM modes, RAW shooting etc... I will...

    The FishEye 14mm or the Tamron 17-50 @ f/2.8

One thing to consider if you haven't done already is that fisheye lenses are "marmite" lenses - you either love the distortion they give you, or you hate it. If you haven't done already, I'd have a good look around here and on places like flickr at pictures taken with the fisheye lenses and...

What Macro lens to purchase for Sony

Which 100mm lens do you have? If that's the sony 100mm f2.8 macro then that's a perfectly good macro lens. As has been mentioned before, I'm not aware of any true (1:1 magnification) macro lenses that aren't a fixed length. Other options that I'm aware of would be something like the tamron...

Looking for some suggestions to expand my lens selection with disney trips in mind.

I've just run a data plot against all Disney photos in my lightroom catalog (looking at all photos that contain "Disney" somewhere in their metadata, which amounts to roughly 900 photos) and it shows me the following about the focal lengths I've used compared the lenses you have: only 26 of my...

What Macro lens to purchase for Sony

Definitely agree there - but, having used the tamron 70-300 in full macro mode myself, I can certainly say that (in my own experience anyway) a tripod makes life a lot easier because it's surprising how little you have to move the camera to have an affect on the image quality :thumbsup2
