We miss you here in Alaska

[ We also have Alaska booked for May, but I am beginning to have doubts if it will happen. My medical condition does not let me wear a mask, and it does not look like that requirement will change anytime soom

Face shields allowed in Parks? (No rants or complaints, just an honest question)

I am under doctors orders not to wear a mask longer than 15-20 minutes. I understand Universal is allowing face shields for those who physically can not wear a mask. Does WDW have a similar allowance?

    The great “mask” debate

Yes, I can wear a shield. When I found out I ordered a face shield. A little bulkier to carry around, but that is okay. Most people want to know where I got it. Many local ordinances going in locally. Most either give allowances for medical conditions or use the term "face covering" as...

    The great “mask” debate

I have a condition called Samter's Triad. Samter's Triad is a condition in which an individual has asthma, sinus inflammation with recurring nasal polyps, and sensitivity to aspirin and some other NSAIDs. When aspirin or a similar drug is taken, people with Samter's Triad have a severe reaction...

    The great “mask” debate

I have found many experts saying just the opposite, that face shields are as effective and less dangerous than masks. Here is one article from AARP: https://www.aarp.org/health/healthy-living/info-2020/shields-compared-to-masks.html?cmp=SNO-ICM-FB-COVID-HLTH&socialid=3432276850 Here is an...

    The great “mask” debate

This does help. My doctor recommends a maximum of 20 minutes in a mask. I can wear a face shield for an extended period of time. So I can switch to a mask just before I get on the ride, but now I have to figure out how to store the shield while riding.

    The great “mask” debate

I would not go. My biggest concern is hypercapnia, excessive carbon dioxide in the bloodstream, typically caused by inadequate respiration. This will lead to hypoxia: a condition in which the body or a region of the body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply at the tissue level. Hypoxia may...

What will it take for you to feel safe sleeping at Disney again?

We vacationed in Europe back at the beginning of November and came back with classic symptoms of the virus. DW had classic symptoms of a moderate case that kept her in the house for 2 weeks to keep it from spreading (She is a retired MD and her training to isolate kicked in). I, as always...

What will it take for you to feel safe sleeping at Disney again?

I think that every individual will have to make their own decisions about what they feel comfortable with when traveling. For some it will be sooner than others. No amount of laws, vaccines, face masks, or sanitizer will change that. After the Pandemic of 1918, things got back to normal...
