    Official 2014 Dopey Challenge Thread!

Has any new info been released recently like course maps or pics of the new medals? I have been checking the official marathon site and the Run Disney blog, and haven't seen anything yet. I thought maybe somebody else might have other sources (official or otherwise).

    Epcot- First time- HELP! :)

First, congrats on your dining reservations. I think you will be very pleased with them. The first thing to know about Epcot is that Future World and World Showcase keep different hours. Future World will be open 9:00-9:00 and World Showcase 11:00-11:00 (or something like that). Most (not...

    New here and need help

From my experience, previous poster is correct about WDW being cheaper than DL. There is also much more to do. Have you considered driving to save money? Doing a 7 night stay for a family of 4 on $2000 is going to be tight even before you book travel. For some families, driving just isn't...

What do you do to get a "fix" of Disney between trips?

I have a Disney playlist on my iPod. I also have an extensive collection of Disney feature films (primarily the animated ones) that give me that good Disney feeling. From time to time I will also watch the free trip planning DVD. Recently I downloaded the Youtube app to my Nintendo Wii...

How to get the most out of dining plan

Hi. Just some thoughts here. First, I am assuming you are doing the standard dining plan (1 table service, 1 counter service, 1 snack per night of your stay + refillable resort mug). The drink mug can be refilled at POP's food court with hot and cold beverages for the entire length of your...

    Official 2014 Dopey Challenge Thread!

That's me! I will be awfully disappointed if I am running a different 5k than my wife. We were hoping to run it together. I have very little experience with competitive running, but I would assume the mats would be on the whole time. People can run over them with or without a tag.

Help from Star Wars Fans out there

I would suggest something with the fab 5 character(s) dressed as Star Wars characters. This merchandise is plentiful at the Disney Parks. There are shirts, action figures, pins, etc... I'm not sure what is available thru Disney's online store. There is always online auctions, too.

    Need help Quick on dopey

Awesome! If you linger around the finish line for a very long time, I will see you there!

    Need help Quick on dopey

I say do Dopey. I do feel your pain. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do either, or if we would even go down for Marathon Weekend. Everything started filling so fast Tuesday that it sort of forced my hand. I immediately signed up for Dopey, and the 5k and 10k for my wife when I got home from...

So what is the 5K like for spectators?

Hi, Carolyn. I'm not sure about the bus schedule. I'd say anything you find online, even on the official website, could be subject to change with the race being 220+ days away yet. All that said, the 5k should take your family less than 45 minutes from start to finish line. You could sleep...

Newly obsessed with WDW, need help planning

Hello, hello. I am by no means an expert on WDW, but I am always glad to share opinions with people when they ask. Perfect. I have only once done a moderate resort. Otherwise, its always been value resorts. I've always found them to be clean. If all you need is a bed and a bathroom, the...

What are your favorite TS restaurants on a budget?

Consider doing your big table service meal for the day at lunch and getting a counter service dinner. Lunch entrees at TS restaurants often run less than dinner entrees. Once you have decided on restaurants, check the menus online to see if that's the case.

    Opinion on dining plan!!!!!!

My wife and I had done the DDP in the past and enjoyed it. In 2012, we went for 1 week. I was running the marathon and the half marathon. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel or how capable I was going to be to go to parks/resorts following the races. I chose not to do the dining plan and...

    Liberty Tree Tavern

We did the Liberty Tree Tavern when we were at WDW in 2012 and also enjoyed it. I recommend it to everybody, but strongly recommend it to families with picky eaters, people who refuse to try new things, or insist on sticking to meat and potato type "American food." I'm glad to hear you liked...

    Quick Dining Review from 11/29-12/7

This was our favorite meal in 2008. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was perfect, and we swore we would come back every time we were at WDW.. We went for lunch in 2009, food was OK. Highlight was we saw Remy. We went again in January 2012. The silverware was dirty. The glasses were...

New test Track - Disappointed or Improvement

I have not been on the new Test Track yet, but reaction I've seen on the internet is mixed at best. I can't help but wonder; if DHS gets Cars Land, and presumably Radiator Springs Racers, isn't Test Track going to be antiquated? You take a ride everybody loves, change it so only half the...

    Disney Movie Rewards

I've redeemed points three times. The first time for a framed Disney stock certificate from Oneshare.com (4000 pts), I donated points to a "donate a plush toy" (50 pts), and the third time was for the New Fantasyland grand opening pin last week (600 pts). My philosophy with DMR points has...

    Any Skylanders deals still?

Toys R Us has buy one get one 50% off this week, but that really doesn't help with the game itself as much as it does the accessories. For an extra $15 you might consider getting the starter. It comes with 2 extra figures that retail at ~$10 each. I also understand the new portals have...

Similar reactions to Santa and Disney characters?

There was a giant tree frog at Rain Forest Cafe here in Illinois that scared my niece (then 2 yo) to tears. When we did WDW a few months later she loved the characters. I don't know what the difference is. Maybe kids just instinctively know Mickey is awesome?
