Anyone at BWV? Need a favor...

Thank you WDWguru.... who's at BWV this week, and was able to pass me the info. The king mattress is a 'Sealy Posturepedic, Encore 720 Plush'. CarolAnne... You're probably right, about this likely to be a commercial model. At least the info gets my in the general ballpark.

    Reservation wanted: Nov19-Nov24, 1BR

I'm interested in renting points for a thanksgiving trip: check-in on Sunday Nov19, and check-out on Friday Nov24. Willing to pay $10/ppt I need a 1BR for sure, but am flexible on the location, knowing reservations at this time will be hard to get. Our preference would be BWV, or BCV, but...

Just for fun - What rules have you broken?

We've re-used our WL mugs a few trips... However, we use them for refills so infrequently during our trip... I usually fill it with coffee that I've made in our room... I still don't think I've got my money's worth yet.

How many DVC members from Houston, TX and surrounding area.

Cracker Barrel is good place to stop if you're looking for a good meal and a rest from driving. Expect slow service. Good, if you want a break... not so good if you want to make good time. We stopped eating there because of this. We usually head out in the morning, rather than drive through...

    OK DVCers............a question............

I map our point usage very carefully... including making sure I don't needlessly book into an more expensive season, when shifting plans by a day or two can save me a few points... BWV standard views, avoid weekends if possible, etc. And I even map our vacation plans out a few years, so get...

    Major Disappointment with DVC

That's exactly right Pam. DVC is too dependent on WDW and the "family vacation market". To be successful, I think they would have to re-invent their travel business, and not lead with the WDW market as they do now. Might take a corporate restructuring to do it... That would have to be left up to...

Will Pool Hopping Discontinue with completion of OKW Slide?

Perhaps this new slide actually improves the hopping program by balancing things out a bit. It could relieve some pressure off other resorts from OKW guests looking for a more interest pool experience…ie. reducing concerns about overcrowding at other resorts. I'm with Chuck... we don't pool...

    On a scale of 1 to 10...

I'm going to say 7+. We've gone the week or two after Memorial Day, the past few years. Standby at the major rides builds to about 45min wait-times... Some peak at 60min. Dinner reservations are easy to get. Plan for a rain-shower later afternoon. Plan ahead, hit the parks early, use...

    What's your......

Artist Point in June, for copper river salmon. Whispering Canyon for Thanksgiving dinner. Flying Fish for char-crusted NY steak. Bomas for a big breakfast, and real coffee Hoop-dee-doo... anytime!

    SSR Monorail easement?

Never is a long time... even in monorail years. Maybe technological changes will reduce the cost... maybe a new visionary will find a way. I wonder how Walt was able to justify the cost? When you wish upon a star....

    Memorial Day experience????

We typically go the week of Memorial Day (ie. the days that follow MD). I'd put the crowds at about 3/4 on the crowd-o-meter. Not crushing, but "busy" is certainly a word that comes to mind. If you plan your day you can get through any crowd. We're no longer bothered by crowds, having learned...

    Boardwalk Villa's Perferred or Standard?

For our first trip home, in 2000, we had a wonderful preferred view. But since then it's been standard view all the way. We've never had any complaints, so I guess for us, the view is nice but saving point is more important.

    Max Occupancy in DVC Resorts

It may have already been said... IMO it makes business sense to allow a couple of extra's in a room versus enforcing a strick occupancy policy... assuming fire codes are maintained. The revenue potential of every person who steps foot on Disney property is simply to great... even accounting...
