Pool water temperature in late January

In my experience, when you go swimming in January the parts of you under water are fine, and the parts of you above water are COLD. So idk proceed with caution.

    Narcocees or California grill brunch

We're doing both during our January trip, but we had to adjust our dates bc Narcoosee's was available for 1/21, but not for 1/28. According to the website 1/21 is the last Sunday they're doing the brunch there. :/ Josh's reviews linked above are great and give a really great take on both brunches.

    Grand Floridian Cafe Breakfast

Even with valet there's a time limit. Park at the TTC and take the monorail to the GF, then to the MK.

Restaurants you must book 180 days out?

We were able to get 'Ohana at less than 180 days, but it was like 1 time slot open on our whole 8-night trip. We couldn't get BoG at all. We had no trouble getting CA Grill brunch, and even rescheduled it to the Sunday a week earlier. We didn't try to do dinner, though. Oh, I forgot to say...

Tiffins RoL Dining Package on the Dining Plan??

Some restaurants will let you swap a dessert for a salad on the dining plan. You would need to ask your server. But the dining plan isn't for everyone, it's true.

Dinner reservation for MVMCP at park close

Yeah, You already have the reservation, and the park doesn't close till 6, so you should be fine. Last time I went to a party they were asking ppl without party wristbands to leave, so once you finish eating just head straight for the entrance.

    Narcoosee's Sunday Brunch Questions

Honestly...I think this plan isn't gonna be the greatest. You've got a large group, and you're going to want to savor and enjoy your brunch! You can get refills on everything, and bottomless mimosas. You're hardly going to have any MK time before you have to leave, and you're using a park...

    Booking Fireworks Dessert Party

I just booked our HEA dessert party for 1/23 on disneyworld.com. I just searched the date I wanted and MK, and it was right there.

    Grand Floridian cafe

We really enjoy GFC. It's usually not crowded, it's pretty, and the food's always been good. Their shrimp and grits are AMAZING, like one of my mom's fav dishes at Disney. I would necessarily go out of my way to go there, but if you're staying at a monorail resort and want to hop over real fast...

    One and done?

We usually try a place at least twice, but a few places we don't want to go back... Sci-Fi: We've been considering it, but we're not that super duper interested (one of the few places we HAVE only been once!!) Tony's: Actually we've only been here once too! Just underwhelming. Lots of better...

One Ohana Opinion (TLDR; wouldn't go back)

We've been to 'Ohana 3 times (I think), and the last time we went the experience was so bad we said "never again!!" Now we're thinking of booking our next trip at the Poly and we're wondering about giving 'Ohana another shot. I think we're crazy. Disney-drunk. Reading this thread (esp the bits...

I need to vent about ECV's not a regular rant.

Someone running into you while you're walking is NOT the same as someone running into you while you're in an ECV or wheelchair. My mom uses an ECV at Disney, and people don't get out of the way. They push in front of her, run into her, and generally act like she's not there. It's ableism, plain...

    Scooter rentals at MK

You shouldn't have any trouble. It's later in the afternoon that there are problems, not usually first thing in the morning.

    Best bread pudding

Another vote for Raglan Road! I picked the raisins out; they're big, so easy to spot. It's maybe the best bread pudding I've ever had. I also like the banana bread pudding with the vanilla sauce at Boma. They have it (or used to) at Tusker House for breakfast. Maybe other meals, too, but we've...

    Sinister Soiree Questions

We just got off the phone and booked 2 for 9/28 for the 10:15 time slot. I'm just confused by the info about checking in at will call? That seems ridiculous since you can check in for the party inside the park. I'm hoping that's one of those bits that'll get changed. Anyway, we're excited...

The Best and The Worse Meal you had at WDW

Best - our trip to the Yachtsman Steakhouse reviewed in my live review linked below was pretty outstanding; we've also had some great experiences at Flying Fish. On our last trip we tried Citrico's for the first time, and it was wonderful. Worst - back before they redid Captain Cook's we got...

    Honesty from other foodies

Ok, so, here's the thing. We used to really love the food at Disney, and we would read here ppl complaining about the quality going downhill, etc, and we thought it was just sour grapes. Our last trip kind of changed our opinion. It wasn't that our meals were bad, per se, they were...

Unofficial Guide-did you see these ratings?

Huh, that's weird. We've never done Tusker House for lunch/dinner, but we really enjoy the breakfast buffet. Good selection, good quality, and (like the pp said) good character interaction. I would definitely give it higher than 1.5 stars. Sometimes the guide books are strange...
