Fairfield Inn - Do I really need the shuttle?

Sorry for the mixup on that website. The map correctly shows the Fairfield Inn being in walking distance (green shaded area) but the database had a bad piece of information and it shouldn't have displayed that a shuttle is recommended. All of the hotels in that general area are WALKING...

Least busy park on Memorial Day weekend

We're starting a weeks vacation at WDW on Sunday (May 25th). Being that this is Memorial Day weekend and there will be huge crowds at all the parks, can anyone recommend which parks will be the least busy on Sunday and Monday? Magic Kingdom Epcot Center Disney's Animal Kingdom Disney's...

Anyone stayed at Orange Lake's West Village?

We are staying in a 2-bedroom Condo unit. Do you know if there is any difference between those units and the unit you are describing? Often times, the timeshare facilities we stay at also have part of the resort run as a hotel. This is the link I have for Orange Lake's West Village ...

    Autopia

Yes...they are pretty strict about enforcing the no bumping policy. The only time it might happen accidently is when you are coming back into the station at the end of the ride. Often times you have to stop-and-go at that point, and the accelerators on those cars require you to push down...

any chance of getting bunk beds at DGC?

In case you're interested, here's a picture of a bunk bed at GCH ... http://www.go2mickey.com/images/roombunks.jpg Have never pursued a bunk bed room at GCH, but my kids love Kids Suite rooms. Wish GCH offered a room design where the kids can have their own space, but the bunk bed setup...

Anyone stayed at Orange Lake's West Village?

We live in Arizona and generally take our Disney trips at Disneyland. Have been to WDW once before during a conference in Orlando and only went to Epcot. Have never taken the family to WDW before, so now we are going for a week at the end of May. We are using one of our RCI trades and will...

    On-site hotel question....

Yes...we have stayed at GCH before and that was one of the perks ... charging just about anything you buy in the park to your GCH account. As I recall, when you checkin the clerks are instructed to communicate that to you so that you know it is available. As I recall, when you do that at...

For those of you hoping to get dream fast passes in the next few days....

Nice pic! Yes...we got some in that very location about a year ago. I believe the sign on the door behind the man in the blue hat says Cast Members Only -- and that's where we saw two Cast Members come out with black bags just like they lady pictured. I'm thinking it was about an hour after...

    Hotels with good breakfast

Since you already have reservations at HoJo's ... the Mimi's Cafe that is located right next door is inexpensive and is better than any breakfast offered at a hotel. We usually go there right around 7am when they open -- and it's never crowded. And we've had lunch and dinner there as well...

Which hotel would you choose, why?

Of the hotels you listed, I believe only the Desert Inn has a suite that can accomodate 10 people. You can actually see what suite options are available if you go to this site ... http://www.accommodationsneardisney.com/ On the right side of the page, scroll down and you'll see a...

    Which Fast Pass First?

HydroGuy ... your reasoning that order DOES matter in terms of which FastPasses to get first makes a lot of sense. I guess my personal "system" is not an optimized one. It has worked for us in the past, but I can now see how your method is a better one. Thanks for the info!

    HoJo Reservation Recommendations

I prefer upper floor with Disney view to take advantage of being able to view fireworks directly from your room balcony. Rooms around pool area are nice too. Try to avoid rooms on the back side of the hotel which can be noisy. Others have said that if you are on the back side and on lower...

How long do different areas of DCA take to see?

Whatever you do at DCA, don't miss the Aladdin Musical Spectacular which is offered 3 or 4 times on most days. I'm sure your 4 year-old would love it. It is a Broadway caliber production and is worth the price of admission to the park (in my opinion). I'm thinking it's about a 45 minute...

No FastPass on Matterhorn -- how come?

The Matterhorn ride at Disneyland has never offered a FastPass. How come? When I was a kid in the 1970's, the longest line in the Park by early afternoon was always the Matterhorn Bobsleds. There was no such thing as a FastPass back then ... but once the concept became a reality, I would...

    Expensive Food Trend

I agree prices seem to have gone up. In reality, I think prices for food at Disneyland have always been well above normal and on par with prices for food at Airports. What's the reason for this? Because they gotcha! You are in a place where you've paid a premium price just to be there...

Why not MERGE Disneyland and California Adventure?

California Adventure (DCA) has struggled to make it on it's own since the day it opened. Although I like many things about it even more than Disneyland (outside of the nostalgia we all have for Disneyland) ... I've always wondered why Disney doesn't just merge the two and make them a SINGLE...

what ride or old building is this ?

Yes...it used to pass through a hole in the Matterhorn which is now covered over. I remember it well as a kid ... was a good way to get from one side of the park to the other (kinda like the Railroad is). I miss that ride :(

What is the Worst thing or Most Embarassing thing that Happened to you in Disneyland?

This has probably happened to alot of people ... but one time my cellphone fell out of my pocket while on the Matterhorn ride. I realized it about 15 minutes later and went back to see if I could find it. I told the attendants I was missing a phone. She said "What does it look like?" and...
