    Getting there

Just got back from the our first Fort trip 3 days ago. We left on Friday 6/17 from Baltimore at 2am so that we could bypass the Baltimore, DC, and Richmond beltways on 95 south before morning rush hours. We drove 14 hours the first day, stopping every few hours to refuel, and overnighted in...

Lost wallets and broken bones. But at least we didn’t lose the dog this time!

Enjoying your trip report very much. We're excited to be leaving for our first Fort visit in two days! Dawn:)

Has anyone out there camped at Disney World in Orlando Fl lately?

I would post this same question on the Camping thread. You'll get lots of info from that board!

I'm in the market for a new carpet cleaner

I also have the Bissell Pro-Heat but would not recommend it. We replaced the first one after 6 mths because it stopped spraying and had our 2nd one in for service after 3 mths for the same exact thing! The rep at Bissell advised us not to use the heat. Not sure what to recommend, only be...

    Palate Expander Experience?

Both my sons had palate expanders. My oldest had the removable one (looked like a retainer) in 4th grade for about 9 months. My younger son, now in 4th grade, has had the non-removable retainer in since last August and stopped turning the key (expand) in December. Our experience has been a...

    decisions decisions!!!

Enjoy your new camper! We also bought a new 2011 North Trail 32BUDS Caliber Edition at this year's RV show. We went "just to look" like we do every year and I was quite surprised when my husband convinced me to make a purchasing decision right at the show. Ususally for major purchases, its...

    Favorite Disney Travel Guides

In addition to Birnbaum, I really like the Unofficial Guide by Sehlinger and Testa. It is not an easy read like Birnbaum but its packed with information and has a very supportive website which offers sample itineraries. I also like Tour Guide Mike referenced here on DIS which is more of an...

    May crowds

May is my favorite time to go! I have been there mid-month and the weather is great (not too hot, not much rain), and the crowds very managable. The only negative about WDW in May is love bugs.

    Droid X vs. Samsung Fascinate

Another vote for the Droid X! I've had mine for about 5 months now and it took a little getting used to after 2 blackberry smartphones. It is a little bigger than most phones but I love the larger screen and its easy to learn. When I was researching Android phones on a technical forum, the...

    Kindle ???

I'd have to say no. I have had my Kindle for two years now; bought it when they were $359. Although I enjoy having the ability to download books from anywhere I may be, its very rare. I have an Ipad (wifi only) also that I use the Kindle app and I just download the books to my Ipad when I'm...

    OT: Elk neck state park

Pretty basic campground if you're used to private campgrounds with lots of activities and amenities. I liked that the sites were spread out on the full hookup loop. I didn't like that we had to drive to a fishing pier and there were lots of ticks.

UG predicts higher crowds in May??Anyone?

I was at WDW from 5/9-5/16 last year and I thought it was a great week to be there crowd-wise. The weather was perfect, crowds were low compared to the two previous years I had been in April. The longest wait times on the big attractions was 30 minutes. Guess I picked the right parks on the...
