Target Black Friday - Online Question

I would have purchased on-line when I was in the store and found out everything was out of stock, but on-line only had the iPads that had cell-service. I wanted a Wi-Fi only iPad. Now I'm reading that Target likely won't "restock" on-line.

Target Black Friday - Online Question

Well, I got up this morning and checked online for the ipad deal. Our store showed they had them in stock - the 32Gb. I thought it would be better to get the gift card in hand. Store was not busy. Ran over there (10 minutes) and the guy said they only had one in the store that he sold when...

Non-gag gift ideas for white elephant

LOL - when I first read the OP question, my first thought was a Maglite flashlight! Other thoughts - fuzzy, soft blanket/throw, a first aid kit My grandmother always brought "useful" items for white elephant gifts - tide, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. (We all thought it was weird, but...

Target Black Friday - Online Question

Thanks. I'm hoping to get the deal online on Thanksgiving. (My husband is working that day so I could go wait in line...blech!...just the thought scares me.)

Target Black Friday - Online Question

I see that Target will have a giftcard offer with the purchase of iPads. Does anyone know if this offer will be available on-line? And if so, how does the giftcard offer work? (is it a giftcard an automatic eGiftcard or do they mail you the giftcard with the iPad?) Thanks,

CVS refunds? Got "cash card" instead of $ (had receipt!)

Most likely when the cashier ran the return, she didn't note that it was a return with a receipt. And, she can likely give "cash cards" for returns if the amount is under a certain amount - say $20 or $10 - without getting authorization from a manager. Cash returns *may* require a manager...

What do you do with a huge amount of Halloween candy?

We do this too! Boys have already set aside the Twizzlers for something for our gingerbread house.

Christmas ideas for 12 year old

Same problem here. 2-11yo boys. Got them new bikes last month for their birthday. They each have asked for a DS game and nothing else. They just shrug when I suggest things. They aren’t into sports either. (We don't have a WiiU or Xbox One, but they haven't asked for it either. We even have...

Septic Tanks - ouch - Advice Needed

Oh, I wish I could. Not too many other options around here, without calling someone miles away. The two guys working on this are supposed to be the "best". I keep asking and everyone within 45 miles from us recommends these 2. (And everyone is surprised they can't figure this out.:scratchin)...

Septic Tanks - ouch - Advice Needed

I'm to the point of just flipping the breaker twice a day and be done with it until city offers sewer service. (Bad part is, city seems to be annexing everything near us, except for our neighborhood.)

    Roaster oven

I've baked stuffing plenty of times in mine - my mother uses hers for the turkey though. (I prefer oven baked myself, too). We use the roaster to bake large quantity foods for family gatherings - squash casserole, German potatoes, green beans, etc.

Septic Tanks - ouch - Advice Needed

We have a septic system with a drain field - not an aerobic system. It's about 15 years old. (Septic pump pumps into the drain field.) We figured out the breaker on our septic pump had tripped. Tank was full. We turned the breaker on and everything ran fine.....then a few hours later...

My son is looking for a bone marrow donor

Just registered too. Should have done this a long time ago. (Wish someone set up at the mall and sporting events to register people. Maybe it is done in other cities.) OP - prayers to you, your son and the rest of your family and his friends.

    Anyone else playing Toontown Rewritten??

This is the first I've heard of this. One of my boys was SO disappointed when it ended. He did get his membership refunded though. My boys (and now including DH) are playing Wizard 101 - which is so like Toontown in format, but not nearly as cool. Thanks!

    Controlling seasonal allergies

I'm a Zyrtec at night, Claritan in the morning person during flare-ups. (Molds in the air affect me something terrible and there's no allergy shots for that.) When it's REALLY bad - not able to sleep because of the drainage, coughing, water-eyes - I get to add Benadryl up to 50mg at least 2...

Giving pop to very young children

Exactly!! It's our job to teach our children and make them aware. FWIW - my boys are twins...one will choose rootbeer sometimes (then he mixes it with water [blech!]), the other gets mad when parties don't have at least a water fountain....Neither like the carbonation....I'm fine with...

Did my homework on lent and have a question

:thumbsup2 :sad2: I really like the "Give up or Take up" quote. When my boys were 4, we decided to "Take up" a daily walk for 15 minutes, no matter what the weather. My topic for the walk with them, was where we saw God (or good)for the day. They still talk about those. Great...

Do you wash your tooth brush?

Always amusing to see what others consider gross and some consider clean. As long as I can remember, we also boiled toothbrushes weekly when we changed sheets on the beds. When my parents got a dishwasher - they went in there. Still do this. We never tossed a toothbrush until we got a new...

    Head Lice....HELP!!

Best advice given to me from an old kindergarten teacher - Seargant's Skip Flea shampoo for dogs every Tuesday and Friday during the school year (the inexpensive kind in the green bottle is what she used; and I use whenever possibly needed). Condition as you please, but keep those kritters away.

Budget Trip to Winter Park - advice needed

Thank you for the information. Not really sure what our plans will be. I was tentatively thinking -arrive Monday, acclimate Tuesday and explore (get our bearings of where the slopes and rental shops are; get groceries); ski school Wednesday and Thursday; no plans for Friday (ski again or do...
