    Brush Fires?

We talked to someone today that had just returned from the GF and he said that there was a lot of smog in the morning and that you could smell the smoke from the brush fires. I haven't heard anything about fires this year....anyone else notice that? We are off to the Villas at WL in a week...

Value of a point spent at a resort

Phil and Mary Jo, I think one of the reasons WL is too dark for me is that we go in Jan-Feb and we want it to be sunny. If we went in the summer, we might prefer it to be dark and cool. I also have a big problem with some of the color schemes of the resorts and wonder what the deal is...the...

Value of a point spent at a resort

Ok, at the risk of having rich accuse me of littering again... I hate WL...it is too dark.....my kids love it. So we are staying at WLV this trip to try it out. I love the locaiton of BWV, but HATE the walk to the rooms and being so far from our car (ok, so we use valet, but we have to use it...

    Annual Pass Caution

Be sure not to purchase the annual pass until you are ready to use it. You can purchase the vouchers and turn them in when you arrive, but it might be better just to wait until you are ready to head into the parks on the first day.... They now start the day they are purchased, not the day you...

    More questions

We have always been able to snag hotel rooms using points and have stayed at the poly, and the GF....we would never have spent the $$$ there without the points. We don't always get our first choice (and we generally go in Jan-feb), but it is a great way to try all the deluxe resorts. Susan in...

    Using points on the weekend

Hi Maxwell--I agree that $280 would be reasonable--but a 1 bedroom on the weekend would be 60 points or $600--that's where the problem comes in for me. Diane, We bought 210 points...generally we go in Jan or early Feb so we can get Sun thru Thurs (pay AP rate for the weekend) and another Sun...

    Reservations and other questions

I would say it depends on the time of year you go. We usually go in Jan or Feb and start planning in October or November--we generally get what we want--a one or two bedroom...and also are able to get resort rooms at the poly or gf. We have also been able to get rreservations in October on a...

    Using points on the weekend

I will try to think of it as a total amount rather than mid-week and weekend points. We generally arrive on Sunday night, spend Sun thru Thursday with points at a resort like the poly or gf, get an Ap rate for the weekend and spend the next Sun thru Thursday in a 2 bedrrom. Guess it is just...

    Using points on the weekend

Ok, I need some positive ways of looking at using points for a weekend night. We usually spring for a two bedroom during the week, even though there are only four of us--so it's not like I do things the cheapest way. But we are coming into VWL on a Saturday. We could only get a 1 bedroom for...

Need to find a compromise to convince hubby to join - opinions please!

What time of year have you visited Disney? Have you tried going in late Jan or early FEb? We try to go when there are the least ampount of people. Then we buy annual passes and stay for ten days or more at a time (and staggering our vacations to go one year in Feb and the next in Jan so we can...

    Annual Passes

Ok, be sure you understand the new AP policy. You do NOT want to purchase them until you are ready to use them. You can purchase a voucher ahead of time...but if you purchase the actual AP, the year starts to run.... Susan   ;)

    another insurance question

Ok, So they pay you for the points--and it's not really insurance. I had a feeling it might be this way--that's why we never bought the insurance. Thanks. Susan

    another insurance question

We recently had to cancel a trip (2Bd at the VWL-sigh) due to my husband's hospitalization (he is fine now, thanks). When we cancelled, she asked if we had bought insurance--we hadn't. My questions is--if they had reimbursed us $6 a point--does that mean we lose the points? I know this sounds...
