August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

Hello all. Well, after a lot of thought and discussions, my family decided to cancel the Disney Cruise and we booked with RCCL Liberty of the Seas for the same week. I never thought I would do it, but after seeing the difference in price and checking out everything they have on the ship, we...

August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

Okay, so I was reading some of the thread on the main forum regarding the cruise meets being "too personal." I didn't read every post because it was very long, but some of it got me thinking. Some people felt that people would just "lurk" & read their personal information, but never post and...

Ski - just the sound of it makes me cringe :scared1: gonzalj - I guess there is going to be a lot of NJ people on this cruise. I've never heard of Haskell, is that in North Jersey? I am not into the matching tshirts either. And there is no way I could convince DH to wear one. He...

Ski - I'm glad you have such great friends helping you out! I can't imagine trying to cook, let alone do anything in your condition. We finally had some really nice weather in NJ this weekend. My house has been non stop with the kids coming over swimming. We ended up having the entire...

I wish I could plan a surprise trip like that, but I don't think I could keep the secret for too long. I get too excited! Plus I don't how I would pack without the kids knowing. Where would I hide all of my luggage? Did I mention that I tend to way overpack?

Did anyone else notice that there's really only a handful of us posting on here, but we've had over 2500 views? I used to be a lurker myself. I don't know why, but I felt uncomfortable jumping in on the conversations. :confused3

    Decisions, decisions...

We did both the Western & Eastern and we liked the Western better. As far as the kids and school, I think it gets harder as they get older. My DD is in 1st grade and my DS is in 6th grade. It wasn't too bad for my DD, but it was a little tough for my DS to make up 5 days of work & tests.

Dining Experience... Am I being too critical?

Our servers on our first cruise were terrific. The service was great, our kids absolutely loved them & we all really had a great time at dinner every night. Our servers on our 2nd cruise weren't nearly as good, but they weren't terrible. I guess we were expecting it to be like our 1st cruise...

Is it possible to find out if a server is still there?

I called DCL about a former server prior to our last trip. They couldn't tell me if he was still on the ship or not, but they did put in that we requested him again. Once we were on the ship we found out that he wasn't working for DCL anymore due to a back injury. We were so dissapointed. I...

My sister used to to live in Colorado, so we went white water rafting a few times when I would visit. A little scary at times, but I loved it!

Does anyone stay on the ship on excursion days?

Hi Lisa. I have not done it myself (yet), but I hear the ship is great on port days. They still have activities planned, the pools are empty, plenty of chairs, etc.
