One night b4 POR check in?

We did exactly what you are talking about, and liked the Holiday Inn Express LBV a lot. They have a small but nice pool with a slide, and the breakfast was great. There was even bread and peanut butter to make a sandwich to take with you. For our family of 5 we had to use a rollaway bed, but...

    January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Sooooo excited! Only one more day until we leave for Orlando - 2 before we're actually in the parks. We're staying at POR Jan 3-10. A little stressed about the weather forecast - it looks like it is going to be chilly. So much for escaping the cold. Oh well, better to be cold in Disneyworld...

Need opinions on strollers (again) ((sorry!))

We just returned today from our trip :sad1: and we had a dilemma about strollers as well. We have a baby, a 4 yr old and 7 yr old. We debated bringing a single and buying a double jogger, but in the end found it more convenient to bring our single and rent a double in the park. We did a...

    Alternate footware to crocs?

I loooooooove my Skechers Mary Janes. I have somewhat narrow feet, so I can't comfortably keep the Crocs on, but my Skechers can be adjusted slightly to fit tighter. I wear them practically every day and they are very comfortable. Lisa  2 days til kids first trip!

Best Beach to Visit while at Disney

Caladesi Island is paradise! You have to take a ferry over, but then you're the only ones on the beach. Especially if you don't get to a beach very often, this one is the best I've been to. We also loved Siesta Key. Have fun!

Magical Express or pick-up from airport

We are going to Disneyworld in April and my mother-in-law is meeting us there. We're flying into Sanford and will have a rental car. She is flying into Orlando International. We had planned to have her use Magical Express, but I'm getting worried now that I'm reading about the problems some...

    Stroller revolt!

I want to thank all of those who have offered their constructive opinions, and those who have jumped to my defense in my decision to rent a stroller for my 4 and 7 year old. I can't add anything better than has already been said. As for "A Baby's Best Friend," I did look into it, but their...

    Stroller revolt!

The stroller I found is on Amazon.com and is the Instep2 double jogging stroller. On Amazon it says that it holds 75 lbs per child. It is $149 with free shipping. I know that my 7-yr old could walk, but even I will be wiped out after a long day of walking (and I am in good shape) - much...

    Stroller revolt!

Hi, I'm just so irritated at the increase in stroller prices! We planned to rent a double stroller for our 4 and 7 year old, and now that would cost $162 for our 6 day trip! I thought about buying a double jogging stroller (there is one online for $150 that holds 2 kids at 75 lbs each)...

2.5 yr old and stroller (I know this has been

I debated whether to take our stroller or rent one at the park, and finally decided to buy a Jeep stroller from Walmart (we're staying 6 days, and it only cost a couple of dollars more ($50) than if I rented in the park). It is super lightweight, reclines, has a basket and cupholders - and it...

    Best stroller for Disney

Thanks to all for your advice. I found a great stroller that fits all my requirements. Just under $50, has a basket, reclines, is very lightweight, folds up with only one hand - even has 3 cupholders! It is a Jeep stroller that I found at Wal-mart. The search is over!

    Rental car at Sanford Airport

We're flying into/out of Sanford Orlando International in late April. We found a great deal on a rental car (minivan), but our flight leaves at 8:10AM and they will not allow early drop off. Any ideas for how we could work it out? The counter opens at 8AM. The closest competitor will charge...

    Should I get the DP?

Sounds like we have the same issues as you. We're not huge eaters and we are watching our costs. However, we decided to go with the DP for several reasons: 1. We wont worry about the costs if it is paid for in advance. 2. We're doing 2 character meals which we would not enjoy if we were...

    Best resort for big families?

We're going in April with 3 adults and 3 kids and have chosen a suite at the All-Star Music. I don't know how old your children are, but they said they could not guarantee adjoining rooms, and this was a concern for us with young children. We chose the suite for several reasons: 1. We were...

Good beach town a few hours drive from Orlando?

My husband and I did a similar trip years ago. We were happy with Clearwater, but thrilled with Caladesi Island. It was like an island paradise - blue water, white sand, no crowds and gorgeous shells (I'm a shell fanatic). We took a ferry over, which was a pleasant ride in itself. I have...

    Best stroller for Disney

Thanks Perditamarie. I agree that my 4-yr old would be more secure and easier to keep track of in a stroller in a crowd. I thought about taking 2 strollers as opposed to renting, but we're flying (direct flight), and I'll only need 1 in the airport. Guess I could always purchase the extra...
